Okay, so Fawnabelle Baggins, at her new blog Geeky, Nerdy, and Proud of It, tagged me for the Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award. As I am pretending that I am getting back into the blogging world I figured a tag would be quick and just the ticket! So thank you, Fawnabelle!
There aren't any written rules that I can find, so forgive me if I somehow missed them.
1. What is your favorite fandom?
Umm, this is tough. I'm not sure that I have a favorite fandom...hmm. I suppose I would have to go with the Lord of the Rings fandom. Their 'fandom things' probably make me laugh the most.
2. Are you obsessed with that fandom?
No. See the answer above.
3. What is your favorite book and why?
I will have to answer this question with some revision. What is your favorite book at the moment? And I would have to go, for originality purposes with The Awakening of Miss Prim. I already reviewed it here on my blog so you can read more about it here. If I were going with which books are closest to my heart I would go with The Lord of the Rings Trilogy! I won't go into the reasons I love Lord of the Rings here, because I have posts in the past as well as in the future that should more than cover my love for LotR. :)
4. What is your favorite hobby?
Photography. I would say writing but as I am working on making that my job rather than just a hobby I would go with photography.
5. How much time and effort do you put into your hobby?
I have a pretty good camera but I haven't used my talent as much since moving back west. I lived in the east for awhile and have many pictures of the ocean to prove it. I love the ocean!
6. Where would you live in any fictional world and why?
Middle Earth--Rohan--Edoras. I would love the open land surrounded by hills and mountains. And the horses! Sure, it is a little shabby but I like it anyways. Not to grand for me.
7. What is your favorite movie and why?
Haha, okay, I'll go for originality again... I'll go with my current choice. Because I have been sick I have watched a few of my comfort movies. Skylark, the second in the Sarah, Plain and Tall (movie) trilogy is a favorite. I might do a post on it but to answer the question of why, I will try and be brief. It's a story of love, not a chick-flick kind of love but an enduring love. And they go to the Maine and it has the beautiful ocean! So that is a very short and sweet explanation for my love of Skylark. Perhaps there may be more to come another time. :)
8. What is one meal that you think you can eat every day forever?
Burgers and fries. There are many different ways to fix them and I love them!
9. You just won the lottery. What would you buy first?
I would pay for a family vacation(s).
10. If you were a cookie, what kind of cookie would you be?
Most likely a chocolate chip cookie. Although, I don't think that I could improve every situation as easily as a chocolate chip cookie could. (That's a hard question for me. Rather on the strange side. I can't say that I would enjoy being eaten. :P)
Well, that was a lot of fun. Now I suppose it is my turn to come up with questions...oh, dear...I'm not very good at this part.
Cordy's Questions:
1. Do you have a favorite fictional couple? (If so, why do you like them?)
2. If you could have any animal (safely), as a pet you would have a...
3. You get to live in Middle Earth, what race are you a member of?
4. In an ideal situation (you don't have to worry about living to far from family or money concerns) where would you live? (It can be fictional.)
5. Do you have a favorite 'vintage' movie? (As in, filmed before 1960.) What is it?
6. When you were a little kid what did you want to be when you grew-up?
7. You can be 'the best' in any sport (e.g. gymnastics, curling, synchronized swimming etc.) what do you choose?
8. List three things that you wish people knew about you but will never ask. (Or just three random things. ;))
9. Share a favorite quote!
10. What is your favorite thing about wintertime? (Besides Christmas.)
I tag:
Miss March of Sunshiny Corner
Natalie of Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens
Olivia of Meanwhile, In Rivendell...
Phoebe of The Storybook Journal
Rose of An Old Fashioned Girl
(And I know this might be against the rules...but I'm curious for her answers so I'm ignoring that this is an 'award' thing.) Rosie McCann
Also, if you're wearing socks, consider yourself tagged. :)
I know that putting together a post can be a lot of work so even if you just answer in the comments I would love to hear from you all! And if you do fill out the award please leave a link so that I can read about it!
Yours truly,
Cordy

If your comment doesn't appear immediately don't worry! I moderate my comments so check back in a few days and you might find it!
Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.
So please, do comment!
P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D

Glad to hear you're feeling better and fun answers! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, your new header and blog ensemble are absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thanks, Heidi!
DeleteThat's very kind of you to say. :D
Glad you're back, Cordy! Great answers! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tag/award!
DeleteFirst off, that picture of Aragorn!! That made me laugh! :) "FOR THEM" Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteYou like photography? I hadn't realized that! How fun! You should show us some of your ocean pictures sometime!
Heehee. This feels like a Lord of the Rings themed post. ;)
Skylark! Oh, I love that movie, too! And Sarah Plain and Tall. (Winter's End wasn't so great, though. Have you seen that one?) "It's a story of love, not a chick-flick kind of love but an enduring love." Yes! That's what I like so much about those movies. They're so REAL.
I loved this post, Cordy! It was so much fun! And thanks for tagging me. I'm looking forward to answering your questions very soon!
~Miss March
Isn't that great?! Haha, I love it!
DeleteI do like photography...like a lot! :) I'm fairly good at detailed nature photography but I STINK at landscapes. :P (Unless I'm at the ocean. How strange...) Haha. I will have to look into sharing a few of my shots sometime.
I know. I couldn't help it! :) I was simply answering the questions and I found myself writing a plug post for the Lord of the Rings. As I was already in the Middle Earth neighborhood, I had to include those great quotes from the books.
I got our VHS versions out while I was sick and re-watched them. (I have seen the third one but only in passing. I can't say that I've 'sat down and watched it' but I was basically in and out of the room while it was playing once. Not a huge fan either.) While I knew them to be favorites, as we don't have the DVDs, I hadn't watched them in awhile but now I'm reminded of how much I do love them! :D "They're so REAL", I agree with you completely!
Thanks. :) I'm glad to see you're so excited!! I'm looking forward to your answers! (I hope you noticed that this time, I actually thought of 10 whole questions...not just 9 with a cop-out. ;) Watch out, Cordy is getting the hang of these 'award' things. Haha.)

First of all…
ReplyDeleteCORDY THAT HEADER. Wuuuuut. This new look is absolutely, completely GORGEOUS! :D Wow. If I may ask, how in the world did you make it?!
And thank you so much for tagging me! I'm really looking forward to answering the questions :)
That third picture…WOWZA. I'll admit, Gimli annoys me to no end in the books (don't even ask), but that quote is stunning.
Edoras is beautiful! Good choice ;)
Ooh, ooh, Skylark! That's my favorite of the Sarah trilogy :) It's so beautiful. Yes, yes, please do a post on it!!!
Hahaha, thanks! :D Well, I'm a fair hand at photo-shopping so I went and found two pictures of mine and started messing around on photo-shop. (Photo-shopping, for me, is like a comfort hobby. :)) Anyway, I found the frame stacks and I adjusted my pictures inside until they almost matched each other and that was that. I'm glad you like it. :)
DeleteAny time. ;) I can't wait for your answers!
Really? :O Even though you warned me against it...I am very tempted to ask...yup, here comes the question. Why?
I would go riding every day. (As soon as I found a handsome rider to teach me...minor detail.) ;)
It's my favorite of the three as well! I might just have to do a post, now that I know that at least a few of my readers are familiar with the film.
*whistles* Well, all I know is, it's beautimous :)
DeleteHaha, well...okay, so, he just does. The main reason is his whole attitude about Galadriel. I get that he's got a major "crush" on her (who wouldn't), but...seriously. Does he have to go ON and ON about it?! And does he have to literally threaten to kill others if they don't share his personal belief that she's the most beautiful creature in Middle-earth?! He just irritates me :P
Heehee ;)
Yes, please do! I'm still looking forward to it :)
Ooooh, I see. Well, if you think about it, Gimli was one of the people that used to speak against Galadriel but when he actually meets her, he is in great awe of her and finds how mistaken he is. Granted, his methods of restoring the lady's honor by taking a life are on an extreme scale. However, considering that he was one who spread the same lies and now wishes to correct them, and taking into account the fact that he is a dwarf, (they aren't really known for their even temperament), I don't think it's an overreaction for his character. But, I can understand that even if we go into the character construction, Gimli, can still rub you the wrong way. :)
DeleteAhh, good point. I suppose the dwarves as a race just rather "get under my skin"--but that's okay ;)
DeleteHaha, that I understand. :D
DeleteOh, I love your new header! And that LACY BACKGROUND!!! SO pretty :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my tag answers:
1. Do you have a favorite fictional couple? (If so, why you like them?) - I have many favorite fictional couples . . . Hmmm. I'm going to say my favorite are Annie and Charlie Johnston, from Mustang, Wild Spirit Of The West. (by Marguerite Henry.) Have you read that book? It's really good. Then, of course, I like Jane and Jerry West from The Girl In Blue. (by P.G. Wodehouse.)
2. If you could have any animal (safely) as a pet you would have a...Goodness, I don't know. I suppose I'd have a monkey :P
3. You get to live in Middle Earth, what race are you a member of? - The Dunedain, I think. Three times a normal life span, wisdom, discernment, and prophesy :P COOL!!
4. In an ideal situation (you don't have to worry about living to far from family or money concerns) where would you live? (It can be fictional.) - Ireland. All de way. I've a teeny bit of Gaelic blood and I've just longed to go there since forever :P
5. Do you have a favorite 'vintage' movie? (As in, filmed before 1960.) What is it? - I really love The Bells of St. Mary's, 1945. It stars Bing Crosby and Ingrid Bergman, and is really just a sweet, wonderful movie. :)
6. When you were a little kid what did you want to be when you grew-up? - An artist. And I still want to be ;)
7. You can be 'the best' in any sport (e.g. gymnastics, curling, synchronized swimming etc.) what do you choose? - Wow! What a question! Um - I think I'd choose archery. It looks soooo intriguing. Plus then I could pretend all sorts of awesome things :P
8. List three things that you wish people knew about you but will never ask. (Or just three random things. ;)) - I am an INTJ writer, I love sarcasm, and I am afraid of waterbeetles. :P
9. Share a favorite quote!
"There are moments, Jeeves, when one asks oneself, 'Do trousers matter?'"
"The mood will pass, sir."
- from The Code Of The Woosters, by P.G. Wodehouse
10. What is your favorite thing about wintertime? (Besides Christmas.) - Candy. Just kidding? I'm not sure :)
Thanks so much for tagging me, Cordy!! Though it might have been against the rules :P
Thanks for filling it out!! :D
Delete1. I have not read either of those books. My 'to-read' list is getting crowded!
3. Oooh, GOOD choice! I hadn't thought about the Dunedain. Yes, excellent choice!
5. Really?! Interesting... I remember watching it and feeling how strange it was for me to try and pair a nun and a priest. Haha. That's just wrong. :P Wouldn't work. :)
7. Another fun choice!
8. Beetles. ANY beetles--YUCK-O!
Eh, rules. ;)
You're welcome!!
Delete3. Yes, the Dunedain are amazing :)
5. Oh, I just think of them as friends. Yeah, that would be weird! :P
8. I hate bugs :P
I too love Edoras! It's simply stunning there and having the mountains as my daily view would never get old. Plus, I love horses. :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the "Robin Hood" look of Gondor, but I couldn't stand living in such a gray, stony city. ugh
Your new design is so pretty!! Did you take the pictures in the header yourself? They're lovely!! (I think I have a similar one of a bee on a hibiscus-except the flower was pink. :))
I like the clean white and gray look of Gondor myself, but I think it would be too loud for me to live in. I love the idea of hearing the sound of traffic on the cobblestoned streets but in the end, I think I would go a little crazy. Haha.
DeleteThanks! I did take the pictures myself. I have quite a few bee pictures but I liked the hollyhock in this one so it won the placement on my header. :)
Really? Haha! It's funny to hear when people like things that I just don't. haha ;) That is also true. I definitely prefer the "country" feeling of Edoras over the "city" feel of Gondor.
DeleteOh, nice job!! And great choices. ;)
