Okay, haha, into the game.
1. You have been tasked with your own quest, your own fellowship has been gathered, and you have the pick of one last member, would you rather choose Eomer or Imrahil to join you on your journey? (Imrahil is a member of the Dunedain.)
2. Would you rather have to track an army of Uruk-Hai, or climb the 'stairs'?
3. Who would you rather, slap/shake/glare, some sense into, Denethor or Wormtongue?
4. Would you rather attend Bilbo's birthday and have to dance a jig or have to sing a solo at Aragorn's coronation?
5. Would you rather, soar on an Eagle's back to pick-up Frodo and Sam or participate in the last march of the Ents, courtesy of Treebeard's shoulder?
6. Would you rather have to face an enraged Oliphant or Shelob?
7. Would you rather have to wear the full armor of Gondor for a day or the full armor of Rohan for a day?
8. Would you rather have an axe or a bow?
9.Would you rather visit Lothlorien or Rivendell?
10. Would you rather have to get through the Mines of Moria or take the Path of the Dead? (In each situation, you are with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. Haha, so, you're not alone!)
11. Would you rather stay and help rebuild the Shire, or sail to the Undying Lands?
Cordy's Answers:
1. You have been tasked with your own quest, your own fellowship has been gathered, and you have the pick of one last member, would you rather choose Eomer or Imrahil to join you on your journey? (Imrahil, is a member of the Dunedain.)
Probably Imrahil. He is older and that leads to speculation about being wise and that sort of thing. That and he's one of he Dunedain which means he has some skills and as I don't, not of his kind anyway, those skills would be most welcome.
2. Would you rather have to track an army of Uruk-Hai, or climb the 'stairs'?
Ha! You're kidding me right? Both of them require quite a bit of endurance but here's the thing, if I slip while running westward across the plains, I have solid ground right under me. On the stairs, that is sooooooo not the case! O_O Therefore, it looks like I'm going to be running for a few days.

My face while running. (Ha! That is if I ran...which I don't) |
3. Who would you rather, shake/glare some sense into, Denethor or Wormtongue?
This is a personal grievance question to be honest. I have this bone to pick with Denethor. :P Wormtongue is just warped and messed up as is Denethor. But he's on a different level when it comes to his treatment of his sons. Grrr. We should never meet. ;)
4. Would you rather attend Bilbo's birthday and have to dance a jig or have to sing a solo at Aragorn's coronation?
*nervous shudder* I need to stop asking these kinds of questions! I can't sing. I mean, I'm not physically unable but I just shouldn't sing where anyone can hear me. But then, I can't dance either. But I would rather dance, in a large party of other dancing guests than be the center of attention at a coronation. (The very word suggests a monstrous crowd!!)

This would be the face of any person who saw me trying to dance. Laughing at the ridiculous display. |
5. Would you rather, soar on an Eagle's back to pick-up Frodo and Sam or participate in the last march of the Ents, courtesy of Treebeard's shoulder?
Riding Treebeard's shoulder into the fray would be pretty thrilling but... If you don't know my answer now, you will by the end of the week. I'll take an Eagle for a rescue. :)
6. Would you rather have to face an enraged Oliphant or hungry Shelob?
Oliphant. No contest. Shelob has too many legs and pinchers and ughhhh. An Oliphant, while huge, would also (hopefully), be a little clumsy because of it's mass. If I had skills like Eomer I might be able to take out two with one javelin throw. You just keep thinking that Cordy...
7. Would you rather have to wear the full armor of Gondor for a day or the full armor of Rohan for a day?
Ahem, Rohan. It seems lighter and they are more my colors. I feel like Gondor would be very heavy and cumbersome. And I can't imagine the metal would stay cool in battle. :P

8. Would you rather have an axe or a bow?
Bow. Distance over hand to hand and right in front of me. But you know, it will look cool on my wall because I didn't say anything about having to use it. :D
9.Would you rather visit Lothlorien or Rivendell?
Rivendell is gorgeous and would sound magnificent with the falls surrounding it. I like how Lothlorien is base in the treetops but I guess I would still go with Rivendell.
10. Would you rather have to get through the Mines of Moria or take the Path of the Dead? (In each situation, you are with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. Haha, so, you're not alone!)
Ugh. Really? Both of them include death. Not that I would die but others have died within the mountains. You know, I'm just going to go with The Path of the Dead. Why? Because they would have to answer to Aragorn, a person of authority and command, who is traveling with me. Goblins and orcs...don't have that kind of reasoning. Hehehe. However, I will never look down to the ground!! Not a chance!! Eck!!

It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life. |
11. Would you rather stay and help rebuild the Shire, or sail to the Undying Lands?
Whhhy do you do this, Cordy? :P (A quick note here, when I make my games I write down the questions and then leave them awhile so they are new and fresh when I come back to answer them for myself. The downside of this, I forget how cruel I am at times! ;P) I am just sitting here staring at the question...have been for a few minutes now. You know what? I would stay in Middle Earth. I want to help rebuild the Shire and then that allows me to travel to other places in Middle Earth under King Aragorn's reign. That sounds like a pretty good idea for me.
Okay-dokey! You know how these things work. Using the comments or your blog please play the game. If you do fill it out on your blog don't forget to leave me a link!!
Yours truly,
Cordy aka a Shire Gardener
Weeeeee haaaaaa!! Here are my answers!!
ReplyDeletehttp://thefloweringvales.blogspot.com/2016/05/would-you-rather-lord-of-rings-edition.html
Hi! You have a beautiful blog :) This is a great idea for a theme week--I think I might do some of the tags if that's alright? Of course I'll give you credit and a link! You can read the tags I do at loveroflembas.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteSO many good questions! I know how tough it is to think up good ones, as I'm always having to do them for my annual Tolkien Blog Party in September, and each year gets harder and harder, hee. We both have some very similar answers to many of these! Mine are here, on my book blog because my movie blog is dedicated to something else this week.
ReplyDeleteYou come up with questions every year? That is a challenge! Haha, I'm glad I have your approval as you are obviously an authority on the matter!! ;D
DeleteWell, I do recycle 2 or 3 questions every year, and I always ask people to list some of their favorite quotes as the last question. But yes, this will be my 4th year hosting it, and I am already starting to look forward at what questions to ask. It's always a ton of fun! I hope you can join in this year :-) It'll be during Tolkien Week toward the end of September.
DeleteI will have to look in on this party for it does sound like great fun!! (And you'll love me because I won't know which questions are recycled! ;))
DeleteOh my goodness, Cordy! You came up with some VERY difficult questions. I want to fill this out, but I'm not sure I'll find the time. If I don't I'll try to come back here and fill it out in the comments. (That is, IF I can manage to come up with answers. You really are very cruel to us. ;))
ReplyDeleteJust a couple comments on your answers: Haha! That picture of Frodo watching you dance! Really, Cordy! You're hilarious. (I'm a horrible dancer, too, by the way.) :P
That bit about your bow looking good on your wall because "you didn't say anything about having to use it." Honestly. What a cop-out. (Can I steal that answer? Haha!)
"If I had skills like Eomer I might be able to take out two with one javelin throw. You just keep thinking that Cordy..." Of course this part made me laugh. Oh! the things we can do in our imaginations!! ;) Heehee.
Soooo sorry it's taken me so long to come join this wonderful week! Final papers are just about killing me right now :)
ReplyDeleteAnywho, here are my answeres:
1. You have been tasked with your own quest, your own fellowship has been gathered, and you have the pick of one last member, would you rather choose Eomer or Imrahil to join you on your journey? (Imrahil is a member of the Dunedain.) I would choose Imrahil. The Dunedain rock!
2. Would you rather have to track an army of Uruk-Hai, or climb the 'stairs'? Probably track the army.
3. Who would you rather, slap/shake/glare, some sense into, Denethor or Wormtongue? Denethor, 'cause he creeps me out less.
4. Would you rather attend Bilbo's birthday and have to dance a jig or have to sing a solo at Aragorn's coronation? Dance the jig, of course. I wouldn't want to ruin Aragorn's big day! And ruin it I would. I'm not good at public singing.
5. Would you rather, soar on an Eagle's back to pick-up Frodo and Sam or participate in the last march of the Ents, courtesy of Treebeard's shoulder? Ride the Eagle! I've always wanted to!
6. Would you rather have to face an enraged Oliphant or Shelob? I'm freaked of giant bugs, so I'll go with the Oliphant.
7. Would you rather have to wear the full armor of Gondor for a day or the full armor of Rohan for a day? I dunno. Gondor looks a bit cumbersome. So maybe Rohan.
8. Would you rather have an axe or a bow? A bow! I would love to be able to use one. Hey, maybe Legolas could teach me! :P
9.Would you rather visit Lothlorien or Rivendell? I know most people would probably choose Rivendell seeing as it's so gorgeous, but Lothlorien has always fascinated me.
10. Would you rather have to get through the Mines of Moria or take the Path of the Dead? (In each situation, you are with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. Haha, so, you're not alone!) Path of the Dead, I think. I hate goblins.
11. Would you rather stay and help rebuild the Shire, or sail to the Undying Lands? Rebuild the Shire.
Thanks Cordy, that was fun!!!
No problem. :) I know that I chose almost the worst time for a LOTR week. :P
Delete5. I know right?! Eagles!! <3
8. Are you sayin' like an elfish styled date? That would be awesome--to be taught archery by the best. Ha, normal people just go bowling but not you. ;)
9. Me too! But I love the sound and views in Rivendell. This was probably the hardest answer for me. I want to see Lothlorien too!!
Thanks for playing, Rosie!!
~Cordy
I am rather late, and have not read the books (on my reread list) or watched the movies in years, though I might have to start now, but after seeing several people participate, I decided I wanted to do so also.
ReplyDeleteEek, I accidentally deleted your comment on my blog instead of publishing it; I need to just give up on trying to publish via email, especially on touch screens! I am sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you joined us!
DeleteHaha, that's alright. Were you able to read it before you 'published' ;) it?
Yes.
DeleteThis was so great! As always, I loved this game. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I watch TTT, I marvel at Gimli's running capabilities, because compared to me, he's an Olympic champion. :P
HAHA! That's true...you didn't say we have to use the weapon of our choice. Well, that's good. I can play with it and have it if I need it, but at least I don't have to actually worry about defending myself. :D
Thanks for such a great game!
Yay! I'm so glad you liked this edition to my WYR games.
DeleteI'm with you! Haha, I once saw a video of me while I was playing basketball (not competitively mind,) and I was like: "Is that really how I run?!" It looked TERRIBLE!!! Haha. I was mortified!!
Yes, I'll place a target in the backyard and use it for those rare occasions...where archery is required...hmmm, are there still those kinds of occasions? :( Hehehe.
Thanks for playing!
1. Oh dear. :) Having another member of the Dunedain would be a very good thing (wasn't Aragorn one of those?), but I think I shall pick Eomer. No, he's not my favorite character, and he does have moments when he behaves unkindly, especially to Eowyn. But his concern for his sister after he finds her injured on the battlefield is so heartbreaking and intense and *sigh* just perfect. Plus, I think we could have rather equal levels of sassiness, and I might need that for stress relief on such an epic adventure. :D
ReplyDelete2. Track an army of Uruk-Hai, because it implies a distance between the tracker and the prey. And I would like for that distance to be large. :) The stairs and my fear of heights would be enemies.
3. Both. Haha! Actually, I think I should prefer to stay far away from both of them. Wormtongue is creepy, but Denethor is intimidating.
4. Bilbo's birthday would be so fun! Such a warm, friendly gathering. But I am rather fond of singing, so I would rather sing at Aragorn's coronation than dance a jig. Plus Faramir would be at the coronation and not at Bilbo's party. :D
5. Neither. Fear of heights again. But the eagles are so breathtaking. I guess I'd pick flying.
6. An Oliphant because I'm sure I am as graceful a fighter as Legolas and could take it down easily. #sarcasmalert :D
7. Neither. But I would like to ride the horses of Rohan. :)
8. A bow. And a little axe-like hatchet or dagger for when the enemy gets too close to use the bow. Why would I possibly turn down the chance to play Robin Hood? :)
9. Probably Rivendell, but I don't feel a need to visit either. :)
10. Not the mines. No, no, no. Too closed in. We might run through the path, but not the mines. *shudder*
11. Stay in the shire. :)
1. Yes, Aragorn was a member of the Dunedain. Haha, sassy stress relief--I'll buy it. ;)
Delete6. HAHAHA!! :D :D
8. So you're a member of the Middle Earth Merry Men, is that it? ;D
I would have to have some teasing going on. I couldn't possibly stay serious during the whole adventure. :D Kind of like Eowyn, but she's his sister. As for me? "Brother and sister? Indeed we are not." :D
ReplyDelete:)
Yes, I am a MEMM. :D I like it - Middle Earth Merry Men. Have you seen the BBC Robin Hood?
Oh, certainly not! Humorous relief is a must! :D Hehehe, love the Emma reference!
DeleteNo. Never really got into it. *small shrug* Not really my thing I guess. :)
Hiya Cordy! Just completed this one! Now to do SW and JA, you should do a Harry Potter one!
ReplyDeleteYay! I didn't know that you were into Star Wars too. But I knew about Potter and Austen. :) I will have to do a Potter one sometime. I'll probably do a few Potter ones, actually. Thanks for playing!
