Good evening, my friends! EmilyNotStarr has nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. I find it strangely comforting that this tag is still making the rounds. So let's send it!
1. What's one food out of a book that you've always wanted to try?
I don't know that I have ever gotten FOMO over food in a book. Call me crazy because I think I am... The closest is I'd want to know what the drink from Fangorn Forest that Merry and Pippin drink tastes like. The Ent Drought is what I think it's called...
2. If you had to choose a flower to represent your personality, what would it be?
2. If you had to choose a flower to represent your personality, what would it be?
I would probably say a rose. Mostly lovely, but there are a few protective thorns to be aware of and proceed with caution. :)
3. If you could choose a sibling out of any classic book, (older or younger) who would it be?
Grrreat question, love it! Also hate it because I really gotta think about it. I'm gonna go with Mr. Knightley. I think he would drive me crazy as a suitor, with him being basically perfect, but maybe a sibling wouldn't go amiss..
4. Which Period Drama film would you most like to step into and live in?
How extended is my stay I wonder...being continually there might prove problematic. I would probably, and maybe these don't count as period drama but I'm saying my answers my rules, I'd choose the Whitney Houston Cinderella, or the 2015 Cinderella. They are both so whimsical I would love it!
5. If you could put your Dream House anywhere in the world, what would your backyard look like?
Ooooh, some kind of best of both worlds between a rocky beach with a serious forest feel. I don't know where that puts me, somewhere in Ireland maybe?
6. Craziest recipe you've ever tried that actually turned out really well? (or if you don't cook, make that the craziest thing you've eaten that was astonishingly good.)
I'm not entirely certain I've been exactly adventurous in my eating (or cooking) outside of rather bizarre things that didn't really make it into any favorites lists. My most recent experience was lobster ice cream. The ice cream parlor guys convinced me as a "when in Maine" type thing. NOT recommended. hahaha.
7. Personify your favourite season. (And just to give a little more detail, and because I don't know how to word that so it makes the most sense, by Personify, I mean paint us a word picture of what that season would be like to you as a person.)
I must confess, this is more than my brain power is prepared to conquer but here is my best effort:

red hair, messy like Ms Frizzle from Magic School Bus. Pencils and leaves were mixed in her hair. Plaid and oversized sweater over top with a floor-length skirt that brushes across every crusty leaf. Hopefully, you now envy Autumn her wardrobe.
8. What's one book from your childhood that still gets quoted at your house to this day?
Little Britches, we randomly say "skunk good". IYKYK
9. If you were at this very moment presented with a very small kitten, (the colour of said kitten is in your hands, too ;) and given one minute in which to decide on a name for it, what would it be?
Oh no, please take it back! I can't stand cats!
10. Which do you consider to be the greater hero, Robin Hood, or the Scarlet Pimpernel?

10. Which do you consider to be the greater hero, Robin Hood, or the Scarlet Pimpernel?
The fact that you know the Scarlet Pimpernel means we are kindred spirits. The fact that you asked this question threatens that kinship. I mean, who is setting up this greater scale? My stars! I'm saying Scarlet Pimpernel because he was saving those who had no other way of saving themselves. They were at the end, and he gave them fresh chances.
11. What is one word that you inexplicably can't stand?
Thank you for this question! I hate nostalgia. It doesn't feel like what the emotion represents at all. Loathe it!

Thanks again, Emily!
Here are my questions:
1. What was the last 5-star movie you saw in a theatre?
2. What was the last play you attended?
3. Last, or current, song stuck in your head?
4. What's a book you always see when thrifting?
5. What is your favorite kind of weather?
6. What is a movie you wish you could see in a theatre?
7. Who is the strongest villain from a story of your choice, whom you think you could vanquish single-handedly?
8. Who is your favorite sidekick, from any story of choice?
9. You're setting up for a road trip, what snacks are a must? This includes a beverage.
10. What is your go-to stress food?
11. If you were a superhero, what power would you have?
I nominate (which is hard because I don't know who is actively posting):
And you, dear reader, if you feel so inclined. :D
Feel free to comment with a link to your answers so I won't miss them!
Yours truly,
Cordy {Samantha Elisabeth}
I've just stumbled across your blog via EmilyNotStarr's (I'm the one who tagged her!) and I'm so glad to be here! I'm really looking forward to perusing everything. (And the 2015 Cinderella is the best. I would love to wear her ball dress just to see what it would be like.)
ReplyDeleteOh, what fun, I love your answers!! (My apologies for threatening our kinship when it was only so very newly discovered, that WAS rather a horrible decision to force you into XD) No kittens!!!! You know, I WOULD be horrified, but I have a very un-Montgomerian dislike for the kind of cats that run in front of you and wind around your legs myself, so I shan't after all😆 *Stops short of her characteristic and customary letter-length comment, and contents herself with what she has already written*
ReplyDeleteAnyway. This was so exciting to discover, I'm so glad you found time for it!
I've just now noticed that I was nominated for this! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMr. Knightley would be a very nice older brother. *nods approvingly*
ReplyDeleteLobster ice cream?? I can’t even fathom it! XD
I've just tagged you! https://craftcoffeeandcake.blogspot.com/2025/06/chasing-sunbeams-summer-blog-tag.html
