I cannot say that I am very deep in my 'study'. In my terms, a study is simply something that I have spent time pondering and thinking through in my own mind with only a dictionary as an outside source. Forgive me if that is not professional enough. :D
In this fallen world it is sometimes difficult to find courage within yourself. In the books that we read and the movies that we watch, our favorite characters come to a time of peace after their courageous tasks have been triumphantly accomplished. But when we look at our own world, we are called upon to exercise our courage everyday, remaining ever vigilant. There is no time for a reprieve to rest from our labors. Our 'happily ever after' has not come to fruition nor does there seem an end in sight let alone a happy one.
We are told to have hope, have courage, have patience and yet such a list makes for what seems to be an insurmountable work load.
We must remember that IT IS NOT!
We must learn to take courage! I find that the term 'have courage' is more commonly circulated and when at first glance is seems that these are the same thing, I disagree.
I turn now to my mentioned dictionary section of my study.
Other terms for 'take' include:
-to get into one's hold or possession by voluntary action
-to hold, grasp, or grip
Meaning of 'courage':
-ability to conquer fear or despair
By studying the true meaning of 'take' we understand that 'take' is an action that we each employ for ourselves. It removes the 'victim complex' that is continually being pumped into our minds by the media and society at large.
Now if we take these insights and use them in an expanded form, it almost sounds like I am using a math term, we could know that when we are called to 'take courage' we are being told to gain control and a personal grip upon our own ability to conquer and handle our own despair. No matter what form it comes in.
We deal with despair and fear everyday. There are many things to fear and many ways to fear in this world. I don't know anyone that does not struggle with any kind of fear or despair in their lives. However, I do know those who do not allow the fears to control their judgments and choices.
When we find ourselves in our personalized Pit of Despair, I only ask us all to remember to Take Courage! We totally got this! We know who wins, we may not see how at times but all we need to do is know that Jesus Christ wins and that we are to help work towards that victory. The terrors and sorrows of this world will not last, indeed, they cannot last! So act on that knowledge. Buck up, move on, let's do this!
We are not the victims, we are the victors! You might just try acting like one. :D
Yours truly,
Cordy

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.
So please, do comment!
P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D
