A little bit of everything...

Hello, hello, friends!!

Gosh, I miss all of you. I've tried to keep up with blog reading but I can't say I've been commenting because I knew that would easily overwhelm me. But I hope you're all doing well. I've been busy, just like the rest of you. My job is taking the majority of my time now. I became full-time and that has meant early morning and late nights for this night owl. :/ It's not all bad, it's just different and the change has taken some time to adjust to.

Finally took a little time to make a cute header. :)

So it's 2019, is it? I can't believe it. I've changed so much. Before we get too far into the new year I just want to mention a few media choices I made in 2018. (That's a fancy way of saying I'm going to list books, movies, and plays I experienced this past year.)

Books I read: (for the first time)
  1. The Grave's a Fine and Private Place (as I said in a post, this book is not for everyone, it's a murder mystery)
  2. Frankenstein (this books still thrills me to think about, there's so much I want to discuss about it)
  3. The Blue Castle (FIVE STARS!!!)
  4. The False Prince
  5. The Runaway King
  6. The Shadow Throne (This trilogy was fine once you checked your brain at the door because quite a bit of it was a little farfetched for me. And yet I still enjoyed it in a way.)
  7. Tuck Everlasting (super simple style and yet beautiful at the same time.)
  8. Dancing and Doughnuts (very fun take on a classic fairytale)
  9. Cinder (not a huge fan, it's just not my thing I guess)
Movies I watched: (for the first time)
  1. True Grit (1969) (I don't know what I thought of this movie but I think I liked it. Hahaha.)
  2. The Greatest Showman (I liked it sort of, but I didn't love it)
  3. This Time For Keeps (1947) (cute but on the slow side in my mind)
  4. Black Panther (is it bad to admit I'm getting burned out on Marvel movies?)
  5. Avenger's: Infinity War (no comment today, I just can't)
  6. Above Suspicion (1943) (a little stereotypical.)
  7. Carefree (1938) (on the slapstick side of funny which isn't all bad)
  8. Forever Darling (is hilarious!!)
  9. Hunt for Red October (I enjoyed it but it's not for everyone)
  10. Won't You Be My Neighbor (uh, pass the tissues please)
  11. Christopher Robin (I was a little disappointed but I still enjoyed it at times)
  12. Incredibles 2 (it was alright as far as sequels go)
  13. Dream Wife (1953) (surprisingly cute)
  14. Jane Eyre (1983) (adore this version!!!!)
I need to SEE this scene in a movie!!
Plays I attended:
  1. Dear Ruth (very hilarious!)
  2. The Little Mermaid (I went twice, can you believe that?! I couldn't.)
  3. Sense and Sensibility (not my favorite. don't mess with the story bud!)
  4. Annie (had a great cast)
  5. Daddy Long Legs (I wish I'd gone twice. Our cast was FUNNY!)
  6. THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL (I wish I could have gone a third time but at least I was able to go twice!!!)
So there is a little 2018 recap and now to talk about the coming year. Yes, my schedule is one that I wouldn't recommend to everyone and yet I do really like my job. I do a little bit of everything as a crafts department head. I order product and set up aisle and displays, tear down one and a half semi-trucks worth of product a week, work register, and occasionally (when I'm lucky) I get to build some furniture for a change. I'm on my feet a LOT and my days are long but it's work that I like so I am blessed. Annnd the full-time pay allowed me to achieve a goal I've been working on for a few years--I bought a truck!!! :D He's a little Ford Ranger and I love him so much!! I've named him Black Beauty after one of my childhood favorites. (I might have three or four copies of that book. Seriously.) But I digress, I was actually going to talk about what 2019 is going to look like...

Let's try again in this paragraph. For several years, I've had a theme song that I keep in mind throughout the year. Previously, they have always been Disney songs but I've deviated slightly this year. I discovered Josh Groban's "Granted". (I know I said I've changed a lot but I still love Josh Groban so no worries. Cordy is still Cordy.) ;) Sooo if you're interested, the song I've chosen for the year to keep in mind is "Granted" and the phrase I'm most attached to is this: "if you feel hope don't waste it". So with that in mind...

I'm not going to close my blogs, my friends. I can't do that. Sure, I know I'm not as active as I was but that doesn't mean I don't have anything to say. I see many of the blogs around me falling apart and even officially dying but I want to let you all know, I'll stick around and be around if you are, is that a deal? In fact, I'm going to use my 200th post to actually make an announcement so stay tuned for that because I'm going to need your help.

Now, with that teaser, I'm going to get going and get some things together. I'd love to hear from all of you in the comments! In the meantime, enjoy a new year my friends!! <3

Yours truly,
Cordy

  1. I read Frankenstein this year, too! There are so many things to think about in that book!

Oh! That is a lot of plays! I went to one play this year, and it was Newsies! It was fabulous. Wish I could have gone twice.

I'm glad that you are not leaving! Post as much as you want to and no more, you have to keep it fun!

  3. YAY CORDY!

Thank you for not ending your blog because that gives me encouragement to not end my own.

Okay, that sounded way dramatic, but you know. :) It's good to know we're here to hold each other up. <3

If your comment doesn't appear immediately don't worry! I moderate my comments so check back in a few days and you might find it!

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.

So please, do comment!

P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D
