Fictional Favorite: Friendships {Part 2}

So this is actually my second post on this subject. You can find my first post here.What can I say? I'm always in for a good friendship! Now, without further ado and to-do and whatever else I can contrive to delay the meat of the post, let us begin!

Boo Radley and Scout Finch
"Hey Boo"

In case you didn't know, Boo and Scout can be found in the incredible book, "To Kill a Mockingbird". And if you haven't read it yet and you're over the age of...fifteen (I don't know what age you should be but I don't want you to take the story on when you're too young), go and read it right now, before even finishing this post! Anyway, carrying on with the post here-- There is an innocent strength in children that can't be replaced by any other sense of protection. Sure, in the story it might have been Boo who saved Jem and Scout but the "protection" I really appreciate is how Boo feels safe with Scout. And with her quite innocence and understanding Scout shield's Boo. Their relationship is so short and yet, so strong. It is incredibly powerful and well written. I love it!

Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet

Pooh and Piglet are timeless, and yet I hear of them and see them so little. (Though this blog never seems to be far from the 100 Acre Woods. <3) These two are so sweet with their simple conversations and little ideas. Piglet with worries and Pooh with his answers are just the cutest things! All of us need Piglet and Pooh Bear in our lives. Really though, I'm sure I could find a quote of theirs if ever you needed one.

Inspector Hewitt and Flavia de Luce

Okay, I mention this next pair to draw a little attention to them. You can find these two within the pages of the Flavia de Luce murder mystery novels written by Alan Bradley. A little story background for you here, Flavia is an eleven-year-old with a knack for chemistry and science who uses that talent for solving murder mysteries. Inspector Hewitt is the local law officer for such cases and while the man respects Flavia's talent he never forgets her age and tries to protect her from herself. If that even makes sense. The man still allows her, sometimes reluctantly, to carry out her investigations and yet he never forgets that he is dealing with an adolescent. He is a needed "adult" that Flavia trusts in her life. In spite of herself, Flavia admires the Inspector and is thankful that he is there for her. I can't really give you an example unless you've read the books so I'm afraid I have to leave things and that and hope you trust me when I say, these two are a heartwarming pair...even if they are found in murder mysteries.

So tell me, what do you think of some of my favorite friendships? Do you know Flavia and the Inspector? Who are some of your favorite fictional friends?

Yours truly,
Cordy

    1. Hi Brittaney,

      You're right, they have the best, and I might add the most hilarious, friendship. Good choice!

If your comment doesn't appear immediately don't worry! I moderate my comments so check back in a few days and you might find it!

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.

So please, do comment!

P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D
