First Word Game: March Edition

This is a pretty simple game, but one I like to play with myself. I take random words and try to say the first thing that comes to mind associated with that word. Basically, the first word that pops into my head after my chosen word. Does that make sense? I hope so because I have a short March edition for you. :)

March = Madness (As in March Madness. The college basketball tournament that is as much a holiday for my family as just about any other holiday. :D)
Green = Pink (Don't ask me why...)
Pot of Gold = Rainbow
Irish = Red (you know, their hair)
Gold = Silver (and now I am singing the song from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. Anyone know what I'm talking about?)
Four Leaf Clover = Lucky and rare.
Leprechaun = Troublesome (I can never remember if it's the leprechauns or the brownies that are troublemakers...?)

See? Simple game. Nothing extraordinary. But I would love to read your answers in the comments. Here on the words/triggers so you can paste them in and play.

March =
Green =
Pot of Gold =
Irish =
Gold =
Four Leaf Clover =
Leprechaun =

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Yours truly,
Cordy

  1. How fun, Cordy! :D

I take it your family is a bit of a sports family. You mentioned baseball in your last post, and now basketball. Am I right in assuming this? ;)

It was fun reading what came to your mind in association with these words. Some of them are probably the same first words that would have come to my mind, so I had to think a little further so as not to copy you. ;) Anyway, here's my answers:

March = Birthday (yes, that would be my birthday.)
Green = favorite color (Not mine. All my little brothers'.)
    Pot of Gold = treasure
    Irish = my sister's fiancé
    Gold = crown
Four Leaf Clover = How about an Irish butler named John? (He does sing about a four leaf clover, you know. Heehee.)
Leprechaun = Bonanza (Okay, so there's this Bonanza episode that has to do with Leprechauns. That's why that TV show came to mind.)

    Did I do alright?

    1. Haha, how can you tell? Yes, we are VERY into sports around here!

I was worried about that. I wondered about even including my answers at all but I finally decided to just go for it. *small shrug* But I still loved your answers!

It's your birthday this month? HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS MARCH!!! (Or if I missed it already then...) HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY MISS MARCH!! :D
Ohhhh, yeees. Everyone needs an Irish butler named John!!
Haha, really? I think I may have seen that episode but I can't be sure. I never really liked Leprechauns much. Don't really know why...*frowning puzzled face*

Yes, you did wonderfully my friend! Happy St. Pat's Day!

    2. Haha! I THOUGHT maybe! ;)

Oh, no. I'm glad you included your answers! That made it more fun! :D

Yup. It was earlier in the month. All over for another year now. Thank you SO MUCH for the birthday wishes, though! That meant a lot to me! :D

I don't know if I like Leprechauns either. Don't know much about them, actually. But that Bonanza episode was pretty funny. ;)

Aww. Thank you. That's such a relief. :) Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, too, Cordy! :)

  2. March: Onward
Green: St. Patrick's Day (I know, that's three words...but after all, that's today.)
Pot of Gold: Rainbow (Same as you. I'm not copying, it just seems obvious. :p)
Irish: Twins (My sister and I are Irish twins.)
    Gold: Coins
Four Leaf Clover: Anne (if you've read the whole Anne series, you know in Anne of Windy Poplars when she finds something like four four-leaf clovers and thinks it will bring her luck?)
Leprechaun: Judy (Judy Plum, in the Pat books by L. M. Montgomery. Strange, but if you've read the books you'll know why. Also, I just wrote a blog post about her and leprechauns, so that's why I thought of her first. (http://lmmkindredspirits.blogspot.com/2016/03/judy-plum.html) )

    1. I like that. I always think of 'march' as a month rather than an order. :)
      No worries. It totally qualifies.
Obvious it is. But you know the saying, great minds think alike. ;D
Oh, I am so behind in blog reading! I will have to go and check your post out!

  3. March = wind (you know, the cliche of March being windy . . .)
Green = gold (These words are just circling around in my head).
Pot of Gold = black (I picture the Pot being very black).
Irish = potato (This is pretty self-explanatory).
Gold = brocade (Makes me think of Kings and Queens).
Four Leaf Clover = Anne of Green Gables (In Anne of Windy Poplars, she finds several four leaf clovers by the side door of Windy Poplars).
Leprechaun = Green (I picture leprechauns wearing green).

  4. Oops, I didn't read the rest of the comments until after I'd published my comment! I didn't mean to copy Rae. It's just the first thing that I thought of.

    1. No worries on copying! It was bound to happen in some ways. I actually thought it was cool how both you and Rae thought of Anne. :D
I liked your other answers as well. Gold=brocade...never would have thought of that! That's why I liked sharing this game with you all.

    2. Oh my gosh, you thought of Anne too!!! Awesome. Kindred spirit. :)

  5. March = Madness. My family does it too . . . I filled out a bracket this year just like always :P
Green = Red. As in Christmas, I suppose - holly and all that sort of thing.
Pot of Gold = Leprechaun. They hand them out, you know, if you can stare at them without blinking or looking away :)
Irish = Music. My favorite kind.
Gold = Silver. As in the kids song, "Make new friends, but keep the old ones, one is silver and the other gold . . ."
Four Leaf Clover = Loads of luck. Much more than "find a penny, pick it up . . ." I actually found a penny yesterday. I was quite pleased.
Leprechaun = Luck o' the Irish. And trouble - because they can hand out good OR bad luck. So you were right :P

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! This was fun :) Please, do it again!

    1. Really?! Where do you stand in your family brackets? This past weekend has been so weird! I mean, throw seeding out the window at this point! Haha. Who do you have going all the way?
I'm so glad you liked the game! As you are kind of the only Irish nerd that I know it's encouraging to know you approved! (And that's a compliment...personally, I don't mind the term 'nerd' so don't take it the wrong way! :))

    2. Yup!! I'm doing okay - I've gotten 15 wrong out of 44 games so far, and have 3 of my final 4 left. Too bad Middle Tennessee had to beat Michigan State. That was really weird!

Thanks :) I could tell it was a compliment. You're so sweet!! Oh, and by the way, I've been really busy with school and such so I haven't been able to work on my story, but I'll send you more chapters as soon as I can. Sorry about that!

    3. Oh - and I forgot, I have North Carolina winning it all :)

    4. HAHAHA, I actually really enjoyed the Middle Tenn. game because my uncle had Mich. State going all the way and it was rather hilarious to watch him suffer. :P I just barely lost my first Final Four when Xavier lost. I have Virginia all the way which is to bad as they are going to beat UNC. Just kidding! Haha. I've been watching Virginia and I am NOT encouraged! ;P

I have been wondering and I have been trying to word an email to check but I didn't want to pressure you, so the email has remained unsent. I wanted to make sure that I hadn't left you between a rock and a writer's block with my 'editing'. :) But I'm glad you have just been busy. :D I look forward to the coming chapters!

    5. Awww, too bad :P

Yeah, that's all it was - no writer's block, thank goodness!!! Just lots of WORK WORK WORK!
