When I was young, very young, I believed in everything. :) I've been having strange little memories coming to mind regarding my childhood lately and I have two of those stories that I thought might be fun to share with my friendly readers. So here are a few things Disney taught my young self. :)
I Can Fly, I Can Fly, I Can Fly
Alright there was a time where my sister and I shared a room and with the shared room came a set of bunk beds. Now, I don't know if I had just watched Peter Pan or what but I randomly started 'flying' onto my bed. (My bed was the lower bunk.) I 'flew' by taking a leap from the middle of my room until I flew all the way onto my bed. I was sure that within in those few feet, I was flying. I continued this routine over and over, being sure to keep happy thoughts, until my older sister came to figure out what in the world I was doing. I explained and wanted her to fly with me. But would you believe it, she told me I wasn't flying! For rude! Haha. I insisted and she persisted and finally I challenged her to try it. She did. Yup, umm, she 'flew' straight into the back wall. After I figured I wouldn't be blamed I did laugh. But that was the end of my career in flying. Hahaha.
Dreamy Dandelions
You should (hopefully), all know the dreamy field of dandelions from Beauty and Beast where Belle sings her adventurous song right? Well, I can't tell you how many times through my life I've tried to make dandelion seeds float off like she did. When I was little I attempted to mimic Belle with every dandelion I could get my hands on. I'd brush them with my fingers and those little twerps would stick to their base or my finger and I even crushed a few because they were so weak. *sigh* They never even tried to humor me! It was quite a blow to work through, I can assure you. ;D
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my childhood. Wish on a dandelion for me, the next time you see one.
Yours truly,
Cordy

Awwww. I loved these stories! They're so sweet. You thought you were literally flying into your bed every night? That's adorable. And oh! your poor sister. "Yup, umm, she 'flew' straight into the back wall." Oh dear. I guess that was a good lesson not to take the advice of little Cordy ever again. Hahaha! ;D
ReplyDeleteAnd, oh! the dandelions. Those ornery things. "They never even tried to humor me!" Haha. Love it! :D Thanks for sharing these stories with us, Cordy.
~Miss March
Oh yes! Of course I did. I just don't think my sister was thinking happy enough thoughts. ;) Hehehe.
DeleteVery ornery, I wholeheartedly agree!! ;P I'm happy you enjoyed them, Miss March! :D
~Cordy
By the way, I forgot to mention it before, but I really like your new header! It's beautiful! :D
DeleteHaha, I loved this post, Cordy! :) Sneak peeks into someone's childhood are so much fun! It's funny what children's imaginations can come up with, isn't it? Although to be honest, I still get those spurts of 'silliness' and do stuff that could be considered kinda childish ;)
ReplyDeleteAww, the flying sounds like so much fun! Well, except for the crashing... ;) I used to imagine that I could fly down stairs. It didn't end well :P
And the dandelions! Oh my goodness, yes! I've always wanted to try doing that, and it never worked! XD I've figured out why now, but still, it would be lovely if it was possible :)
Thanks, Blessing!
DeleteI know, so do I. I don't think I want to grow out of those little spurts though, do you? :D
Yeeeah, the crashing I could have done without. ;) Ooh, down the stairs, now that is adventurous. . . but it didn't work either? What a let down. I hope there were no serious injuries.
*shaking head sadly* No, it never works. *sigh*
Just just GAH! Your new layout! Oh do tell me your ways! I've just set up my Period Drama blog! :D
ReplyDeleteNow let me comment on the post.
I had that flying feeling too, and gosh that's triggered a memory.. so when I was little my family and I went to England to stay with my parents best friends who lived in a lovely old house next to their church , with their seven children (i kid you not) where they led bible study and so on. We stayed for 2 weeks in the end of Autumn and it was lovely. So one evening we eldest (keep in mind the eldest chap is now 25) decided to make a 'cloud' so we pulled out all the old sheets and pillows and draped them on the landing floor (for the house had an attic) and made a cloud. The eldest chap goes let's fly and slides down the banister onto this cloud.. grand plan until we got caught but it was fun! :D
Thanks. Yes, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us at your new place! :D
DeleteOooh, nice! Very grand plan! I would have approved. (And participated. Hehehe.) What a disappointment to be found out. ;P
Aww, this is so sweet. <3 I loved your stories.
ReplyDelete(To this day I have an incorrigible habit of plucking dandelions and trying to blow on them to see them float magically all over the lawn. Ha. Very rarely does one oblige me.)
Yay! So I'm not the only one! :D
DeleteWhat a lovely stories, I love them!!! Your new header is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you, Rachel. :D
DeleteAww, those stories are so cute.
