When Cordy loses her head-er...

HI friends!!

Before I get very far here, yes I have no header. After a frustrating hour trying many different things, I gave up. Better luck next time I guess. So forgive the poor dear. I'll have to do better for my winter look but for now, how dreadfully boring! Now, on with the rest of my babble.

There's something about these movies that make me want to watch them in
the fall. Anyone else?

I'm just going to say, I'm sorry I don't leave as many comments and write as many emails as I used to. To tell you the truth, I stick to writing blog posts because I can reach most, if not all of you, all at once and give a general hello. So that's why I usually have a post up before comments are written or emails sent. Anyway, this is just another update post about yours truly as she's been a little overwhelmed with some life changes. (Also, if you get bored, skip to the end for an announcement.)
  • So, I left Hallmark. I was actually offered a manager position at one of the stores before I did but the owner and I couldn't come to terms. (But, that's not really what led to my leaving.) Actually, I'd been looking for another job for some time and finally, I applied and was immediately taken on at Hobby Lobby. The job transition was much harder on me than I anticipated. There was a lot of stress with the Hobby Lobby rules and environment, along with the fact that we don't scan anything. We memorize which department the items come from and key them in ourselves. And quite frankly, I missed my friends at Hallmark. I had been there almost two years. But, I still check in there and that helps with the loneliness. (And I'm still on the sub list for them when they need a shift covered.) And before you get too worried, I'm doing so much better as I've gotten to know Hobby Lobby. I'll catch on, I just had to be patient with myself. (I can be patient with everyone but myself. How rude of me.)
  • Just to prove that I'm not hating Hobby Lobby, I have already bought a few lovely Christmas items from them that have me so excited. I have my own house to decorate you'll remember. I have to have a few things to celebrate my favorite holiday!! :D (I'm so looking forward to Christmas at my house!!!!!!)
  • My car broke. Her starter died so I've been without a vehicle. I have been begging rides off my family and they have been happy to oblige. I should get her back by Tuesday...fingers crossed.
  • I've read Cinder...I'm not a huge fan if I'm honest. I would have preferred it not having any association with the fairytale because while there are "nods" (sort of), it's basically nothing like the fairytale so it would have been better in my mind if it wasn't trying to be a fairytale. It's not and that bothers my brain. Not to mention, it was a little dry for all the details and backstory piled into it. But the concept was interesting enough (and I kind of made a deal with a friend to finish it) that I'm going to read the next two. I make no guarantees on the rest.
  • My sister and I went to Annie at our local playhouse and we have another play we'll be going to Daddy-Long-Legs in a week. I'm a wee bit worried about Daddy because it's a musical and there are only two cast members...that's a bit tight, don't you think? (But the play I'm most excited about, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL!! I get to see it in October!!! :D)
  • I was an ARC reader for the first time and read Rachel's Dancing and Doughnuts. You can read my thoughts here.
  • Yes, I saw Christopher Robin. I really liked the scenes with Pooh Bear but some of the other character's voices were off and the overall story flow was, dare I say this--dull. I can't say more without spoilers so although it was sweet at times and I "liked it", I didn't love it like I hoped I would.
  • In preparation for another brother to leave on his two-year church mission, we took an updated family picture. I think we all look rather cute and we were able to get some fall colors in there as well. Is it fall at your house?
  • Um, oh! I had a birthday and that was very fun!! :D
  • And lastly, here's a funny story for you. My mom and sister gifted me one of the (I don't know the name of them so I'm going to make it up) twinkle light strands that you see all over Pinterest and such that you can hang pictures on. Well, while trying to collect pictures I realized that while I take selfies, I never take them on my own phone. Seriously, I had nothing. You see, if you leave your phone lying around you're going to end up with a selfie of me and someone else on there. (My brother does this too.) It's just one of those things. You get a better smile out of anyone if you're making a wee bit of trouble anyway. I don't know why I do it but I do know it's just loads of fun. So I went around my sibling's phones and sent me all my selfies so I could add them to my wall.
I mean, how can you not want to watch it?! :D

Well, I suppose before I pop off I should get to that announcement I mentioned. So, I'm terrible at remembering my "blogiversary". It's actually kind of confusing because my blog had been around a year-ish before I actually went public with it. Anyway, instead, I keep track of blog milestones by how many posts I've written. Therefore, I'm going to take the dive and do an Ask Me Anything post for my 200th post. (That is coming up in four-ish posts.) I think I did the same thing with my 100th post. I'm sorry if everyone is burned out on this post idea but I don't have a fresh idea for my 200th post. *shrug* And I also figured with these posts going around you might have discovered some favorite questions to ask.

Oh and I don't mean to place rules, but I won't answer any very personal questions, such as where I live or my real name. But on the other hand, what my most played song/s on my phone, what's the last picture I colored, or if I liked green or pink nail polish, I'll answer those things if you're curious. Hahaha. If you have questions for me, leave your lists in the comment section of this post, or on my questions page that you can find a tab for at the top of the blog. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

*A Final Semi-Personal Note to All of You*
Who's gone to school?! Good luck!!
Who's started a new job? How's it going?
How was your summer?! I want to know!!

Yours truly,
Cordy

  1. I loved hearing your update! I'm in the process of trying to change jobs myself, so I understand the struggle. I don't have much patience with myself either, especially in a new job scenario.

Poor car! I hope you got it back now!

Happy belated birthday! And congrats on the upcoming 200th post :)

    Now, for my questions:

Which period drama would you insert yourself into if you had the chance?
Would you prefer to live in a forest, near the ocean, in the mountains, or in the city?

    1. Thank you for being a kindred spirit, Catherine!! :D How is the job going? And how are you feeling about it?

It is back now and in fine working order...so far. Haha.

Thank you for the questions!! :D

      Hope you're doing well.

  2. I always want to watch the Anne movies in the spring. Hmm.

My s-i-l (the one who does my book covers) worked for Hobby Lobby when she was in college, and she said the only thing she didn't love was how much of her paycheck she kept turning right back over to them by buying all the things that came in that she fell in love with. I could never work there. It would be a financial catastrophe. But I hope you come to love it!

    1. Really? Haha, well, than I think we just found out that we can watch them anytime. ;D

I am coming to love it. I just had to have some patience and give it time. Two things that I am very bad at. (And I totally understand. Financial catastrophe is an occupational hazard but it helps that I don't have so much money to spend at the moment. Hahaha.)

  3. Oh, I do love your title! I've never had a header at MMB, and I'm seriously reconsidering it (maybe for my blogiversary?)
The best reason I can come up with for watching Anne of Green Gables in the Fall is her hair. I know, I know, Miss Shirley herself would disagree most strongly. Well, then, how about the nostalgia factor? For most of us, these movies are a part of us. And Fall, when the year is beginning to wind down, is just the time for nostalgia.

    1. Haha, thanks. You should give it a try. Though I like your blog the way it is--basically, do what you want with your little blog space. :D I'll be very supportive. Hehehe.
Yes, yes! You get the whole idea with those movies!! <3

    1. KERRY!! It's so good to see you around here again!! How are you?!
It's it terrific?! I love it!! And I'm glad you liked it too!! :D (And it's fine that you haven't finished the book yet because now you at least know the story!)

    2. I'm great! :)
I watched the 1982 version. I've heard it's very different from the book. But I don't really care. I like that version. :)

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.

So please, do comment!

P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D
