*shy wave around a corner*
Hello friends, are there any of you still out there? I've been trying to get back into the blogging world for...a good while but as you can tell from my absence, its taken a hot minute. (Which, where did that phrase come from? What makes a minute hot or cold?) Anyway, I'll have to post an update on me on another day. I just don't have it in me right now, instead, I'm going to tell you about my love for Anna and Kristoff, is that alright? How very jolly of you to allow that. Well, I suppose it's up to me to get to it then. :) Oh, spoilers will be unmarked and mentioned throughout.

I am in love with Frozen II. I was an admitted skeptic before I saw it because unfortunately, no one could just let it go after the first film. (I apologize, I couldn't resist.) But I could watch the sequel on repeat. I'm not exaggerating. And one of my favorite parts, is this, you know that cute pictured couple right up there. I personally find it hard to find a relationship that is very well fleshed out in animated movies because of their length. They are so short that you're left with the belief that a kiss is the beginning of never-ending bliss. Hahaha, oh how droll. ;) Luckily for me, Frozen II is a sequel and it had some groundwork prepared from a previous movie so that helped with some of the development but it was only a start. Hmmm, I'm not explaining myself well, time to switch tools here, call out the bullet points!! Some of my very favorite bits to follow.
- Awkward timing, was through the whole movie between the two but most of the time because of Kristoff and I found it to be oh so relatable
- Supporting, not just taking over, Kristoff supported Anna, he didn't just take the reigns, because in many ways he couldn't, he was just there for her to lean on and for support that she would need "what do you need", "you got it"
- Integration into the family, we catch a brief glimpse at the beginning of the film that the makeshift family was learning how to family and that was cute to watch
- Trust and no drama, there are chances throughout that film that, if this were a rom-com in today's world, would blow something way out of proportion and the main characters would have been questioning their lives as well as their love for each other, but instead, the drama was cut to deal with the real issues which was ever so nice!

Argh, I haven't seen Frozen II yet (blame The Mandalorian for soaking up the vast majority of my Disney+ time), so I can't read this, but I will try to remember to come back and read it when I've seen it.
ReplyDeleteGood to 'see' you again!
No worries! We all fall behind in the movie realm and Mandalorian is a good excuse for it. Hahaha.
DeleteThank you. :)
Cordy! I'm overjoyed to see a post from you! :D Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAnna and Kristof are undeniably adorable. You're right, there was potential for them to ramp up the drama, but I'm so glad that they didn't. Together they were definitely one of my favorite parts of the movie (the other being "Show Yourself"). What is this nonsense about you not saying it eloquently? You said it all perfectly! In fact, you're making me want to rewatch.
Hello, MovieCritic!!! Good to see you here!
Delete"Show Yourself" is magnificent!! I love it!! And thank you. I hope you do get a chance to rewatch it soon. :D
MY DEAR FRIEND! Welcome back! It's so good to see a post from you again! I have not seen Frozen 2 so I haven't much to add to this post, but I like what you said in your fourth point: "Trust and no drama"...we need more of that between romantic couples in movies. It's just so refreshing to see a couple who genuinely know and trust each other and are therefore not shaken in their regard for each other by every little thing that comes their way.
ReplyDeleteI keep wanting to get back into blogging, too. Hopefully we can both find a way to be more consistent with it this year. That would be fun! :)
~Miss March
MISS MARCH!!!! Thank you!! It's been to long. I think the only goal I've set for my year thus far is to post more than I did last year.
DeleteI think you would like it if you ever got around to it, but I understand having missed it. And yes, drama free is much better!!! Please remove the drama! Hahaha.
Well, I'll wish you luck in doing more blogging, I think we'll both need it. ;) Because it would be so much fun!
Yours truly,
Cordy
CORDY!! You're back!!! I missed your posts!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that we need more Rom Coms that don't center around misunderstandings spiraled out of control. It gets old, Movie Makers. We stan "Trust and no drama"!
I hope to see you around more often! Welcome back :)
Yes, I'm back. For a time anyway. :D You know me. I come in with a flourish and get swallowed by life in the next moment.
DeleteWouldn't that be great?! How hard is it to go deeper and give your story some depth, instead of drama?
Thank you!! It's good to see you're still around too!! :D
Hi Cordy and welcome back !! I've truly missed your wonderful posts :).
ReplyDeleteGosh, Frozen II is an absolute gem and Anna + Kristoff are just the cutest and so adorable.
Hi, Rachel!
DeleteThank you! That is very kind of you to say. :) It's good to be back.
I couldn't agree with you more!
Welcome back, Cordy! I hope to get back to blogging as well haha and OH how I ADORE these two <3 seriously one of my favorite fictional couples ever! And I enjoy Frozen II much more than the first. I enjoyed this post so much and I can't wait to see more!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Fawnabelle!! You should!! I've found a few cobwebs in the blogging world and I'm hoping maybe my blogging party might inspire some "blog housecleaning" ;).
DeleteAREN'T THEY THE BEST?! XD I love them SO MUCH! I'm glad you can appreciate them too!
Frozen II is one of the best films Disney has produced, "My love is not fragile" is one of the best romantic lines any studio has produced, and I am here for this appreciation post. :D
ReplyDelete*social-distanced-across-the-internet-high-five* How did I know that I could count on you to understand?! XD
