2020 Quickies

I remember I did this for 2019 so here are a few things from 2020. (Because what on earth happened, y'all?!)

~I changed jobs, twice. I left Hobby Lobby, which was an enormously mentally healthy decision, was working for a call center which sent me into a nervous breakdown, and finally settled into working very happily in a fabric warehouse. It's physical and it keeps me moving so I love it!! And they are a smaller company and are good people.

~Moved back in with my parents which has been good and bad. I miss my own space, but it's been nice to be close with my family again

~I fell more in love with Barnes and Noble. You didn't think it was possible, but, it is. I spent a lot of time (and a decent amount of money) there. Hehehe.

~I had to clean out so many of my shoes. I know, random fact, but this is huge for me. I keep my shoes for years!! And so many of them died this year, it wasn't even right. So my shoe stash is sadly depleted, and I haven't had the time to restock.

~Uhhh, so yeah, got COVID, for those of you interested, you should remove it from your bucket lists. I wouldn't recommend it at all. ;) Although, in some ways it's a relief because I can say, been there, survived that.

~Watched the Pirates of the Caribbean movies for the first time, and the first one was really funny, the others were ok. Jack Sparrow though, he's hilarious. *facepalm for admitting such a thing*

~Still watching the Mandalorian, and falling more in love with Grogu

~Lost both my great-aunt as well as my great-grandma, which was yes, very hard

~Went to a few plays as well as viewed a few streaming from home, but the highlight was seeing Mary Poppins with my parents for my birthday!

~Went to my first concert, which was socially distanced and everything! :D It was Josh Turner for those who would like to know. I saw Lonestar as well.

~Played a lot of my Would You Rather Games on Instagram

~Read Rachel's newest release, One Bad Apple which was, as always, a well written delight!

~Watched the new Mulan, still debating on doing a flash bullet point post on that disaster. (Anyone interested in such a post?) Disney, what was that?! *huge facepalm for you*

~Watched Soul and that was a cute, humorous story with a depth I liked but didn't wreck me like Inside Out did. Thank goodness.

~Fell in love with the Finding Neverland soundtrack that I think I would have it playing in the background of my life if I could. (Well, the majority of it anyway, some of the tracks aren't my favorite.)

As I've been typing this, I'm amazed to see that even when life seemed to have been put on hold with this virus, it really wasn't. I suppose I just found a way to adapt, as did the rest of the world. Look at us go, my friends! :)

Happy New Year!!!!

Yours truly,
Cordy

  1. Glad you made it thru Covid! And glad you've found a job that suits you so well.

Yes the first Pirates movie is the best. But Jack Sparrow is always a good time.

And oh my goodness, you added my book to your list! I'm so honored! Wow, that was a fun surprise :-)

As you say, our lives were changed but not ruined by the virus. Did we get to do fun things we'd planned to? No. Did we still get to do fun things? Yes. Did we, in fact, find some new fun things to do? Possibly!

    Happy new year :-)

    1. Still working through the last of Covid, but there's light at the end of the tunnel. And it's so nice having a job that I love! :)

      He's great fun.

Of course, I love your books. <3

Possibly, that's exactly what the year was full of. Very few absolutes, but there were possibilities. :)

      Happy New Year!!

  2. I'm so sorry about your great-aunt and your great-grandma. I can't imagine what people are going through who lost loved ones in 2020.

Alternatively, I'm so glad you've found a job that suits you well!! I soooo relate to that feeling of relief when you find a workplace that doesn't suck you dry every time you work.

Eck, sorry you got Covid, as well! My brother had it in October.

Your Would You Rather Insta games have been delightful!

Ahhhhh, I love Finding Neverland. <3

    Enjoyed this recap! :)

    1. 2020 was no joke. :/ Thank you. <3

It was a great weight off my shoulders and has proved a huge blessing in my life.

It was nice in a way because know I know what to expect, you know?

Oh I'm glad. Sometimes I wonder if people get bored of them. But then there will come a day where I'm bored, so I do them all over again. Hahaha.

ME TOO!!! But I've been listening to the soundtrack almost non-stop lately.

      Thanks, Olivia! :)

  3. This was super fun to read, Cordy! :)

I agree - the first Pirates movie is definitely the best.

Also you got to see Josh Turner live!?! :O So jealous!! How amazing.

Also Mulan was indeed a disaster. My favourite part was the credits song. xD

    1. Thank you, Gabby! :)

I'm glad you agree. Not everyone does. Hahaha.

It was a lot of fun. And as it was my first concert, it was doubly so. :D

OH I agree with you! The credit song was the ONLY decent part of the film.

  4. I'm so sorry about your great-grandma and great-aunt! I lost my great-aunt in 2020, too. <3 Ack, you got Covid too! I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, but I'm beyond relieved that you're doing well now!

Oh, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies! Did you see the fifth one, too? I've seen all of them except that one.

I watched Soul, too. I agree, in some ways it was a lot simpler than some Pixar movies, but I liked it for the most part. (I enjoyed it so much more than Inside Out as I don't like that one at all.)

Sorry that this comment is a little late, but I hope you have a good 2021, too!!

    1. Oh, MovieCritic, I'm sorry for the loss of your great-aunt. What a rough year it was.

I have seen the fifth one. It was probably my least favorite honestly. But they are so funny.

I have a love hate relationship with Inside Out. So I can understand.

Never apologize for being late around here. I fall very behind too! :D
