Mulan (2020) In Bullet Points

 Well, the title of the post says it all, let's go. Spoilers included and unmarked.

• Instead of Mushu, we get a phoenix!! Ok, that can work, I'll give it a shot. After the first few shots of "the phoenix", that...looks like a kite. And it remained looking like a kite. We cut out a sarcastic dragon for a kite. Not pleased!!
• The magic made no sense. Everyone could use it, but people couldn't. Mulan was special because she had this skill, but everyone else was still able to do incredible things if they wanted an action shot for the film. So the magic, was useless and didn't give any advantage and was only confusing for trying to force the issue of it.
• No songs, sad day!
• The bad guy, was weak. He wasn't intimidating to me at all. We went from a bad guy that was a bad guy because he loved the power of that, of being the best and not answering to anyone, to a guy that is after some weak revenge moment...lame
• What is with the super saturated area in the mountains where we have the Mulan vs. witch faceoff? That whole scene was poorly done and didn't belong in the film
• After said moment Mulan, to prove she's going to be herself, goes charging back into battle while stripping off her armor...because that's smart. *facepalm* I'm sorry, but we just put her into the stereotype that women need fewer clothes in battle so we can see that they're female so naturally armor isn't needed. Oh my stars people!!
• That kill shot moment, I don't care who you are, there isn't anyone that can kick an arrow with the force needed to kill someone, especially through those layers of clothes. That was such a stupid moment.
• The overly dramatic and over computerized fight scenes. They were so unrealistic it wasn't any fun. 
• There was no humor, it was entirely removed. You couldn't crack a smile at anything except the poor quality of the film, and after a while even that wasn't funny.
• The pacing was so off! There was never a moment where I felt involved or like I should be invested or interested in the tale, it just kept dragging on. 

So these are the main points. It was rough my friends, the struggle bus was in motion. But anyway, I tried to keep this short, and to a point. ;) Ok, I know, bad pun. Have a wonderful week!
