Anybody there?

Hello! This is me cleaning out the cobwebs from around here. As I'm snooping around here and reacquainting myself with my old thoughts, I am amazed by what time has passed and what has not. Perhaps you can relate. I don't know who's even around the blogging sphere I used to know. But I've been feeling drawn back for some time now. What that will look like is still to be determined. In the meantime, I do have some news that I feel like some of you should know!

Once upon a time, I asked a question that introduced me to a fairytale I knew NOTHING about. (If you follow the link scroll, to the comment section to learn about the trigger for this entire narrative.) Years passed and an idea was stirring. Well, I have written a book. One that involves a fairytale by the name of Allerleirauh aka All-Kinds-Of-Fur, and a least favorite of mine, Rumplestilskin. Both fairytales have problematic elements I wanted to address and the story rather started to write itself. That is how Curses Three came to be.

Currently, I am in a soft rewrite stage. I have heard back from beta readers and am now in the process of sorting feedback to work on improving my story. I had hopes of publishing the novel this year as the novel takes place during a harvest into winter transition. Just out of curiosity, are any of you seasonal readers along with mood readers, or is that just me? For anyone interested, I was a guest during a bookish chat with a friend that you can watch HERE. Just forgive my drawing a blank and knocking my camera down. It may help explain a little more about my thoughts and how I've approached these two stories.

In other news, I joined Instagram...or more Bookstagram. In leaving blogging my reading life picked up, only because it's a little easier to read other's ideas than continually create my own. I'm actually planning a post to highlight some of my especially favorite favorites that I've discovered over the past few years. I know, this is me already planning new posts. Fingers crossed I can remain in check without wasting my time with other things. I need to be creating and sharing again!

Well, this is a good start. As I mentioned before, I don't know what this will look like going forward, with writing here or publishing in general. It's a little nerve-wracking opening my blog up again as some of these posts are so old. But allowing a little slack to be granted, this isn't at all a bad place to be.

Yours truly,

Cordy aka Samantha Elisabeth

P.S. Oooh, is that a new name there? Yes indeed it is, and you'll have to return here when I post about where that one came from and what it's doing here!

  1. Hello again, Cordy/Samantha!!

I'm so happy to see a post from you because your blog was one of the first I started following. ^_^ Oh my goodness, CONGRATS on writing a book!! Fairytale retellings are my kryptonite and the combination that you have come up with intrigues me greatly. And I'm all here for providing alternate explanations for problematic plot points. XD

Anyway, thank you so much for the update on your writing journey! I look forward to hearing more about that and any other bloggerly thoughts! <3

Tell me whatcha thinkin!

If your comment doesn't appear immediately don't worry! I moderate my comments so check back in a few days and you might find it!

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.

So please, do comment!

P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D
