White Christmas (1954) Would you rather...

Hopefully, you are all familiar with the Christmas classic, "White Christmas". It released in 1954 and stars Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye, and Vera-Ellen. To highlight this Christmas favorite of mine, I have created this Would You Rather Game. I hope you enjoy it!

Would you rather go to Vermont or New York?
Very Vermonty for me. :) I prefer the country to the city.

Would you rather take a train or a plane to Vermont?
As I've never been on a train, I think I would enjoy that adventure!

Would you rather see the Haynes Sisters preform or a Wallace and Davis production? (You can't choose both.)
It's difficult interviewing yourself because though you can set all the rules, you then have to keep the rules. ;)
I would love to see the Haynes sisters, their wardrobes you know, but I think I would like Wallace and Davis as well. Hmm, I guess I would go with Wallace and Davis and hope that they are guest-staring the Haynes sisters. But you never know, if the Haynes sister's have to make a hasty exit I might get a better show than I bargained for. :)

Would you rather have Betty's or Judy's hair?
Betty. I like my hair a little more around me face.

Would you rather your 'man' wear a gray suit or dark pinstripe suit?
I don't know why but, I love Danny Kaye's gray suit. I love how it has matching shoes and everything. I'm going with the gray.

Not this gray but it's nice too. :)

Would you rather have Betty or Judy's wardrobe?
This has to be the hardest question that I've asked yet... First, I would have to make a few alterations, as some of them aren't quiet as modest as I would like. Second, there're both amazing. Third, so much for keeping the rules, I would go with Susan. The General's granddaughter. She's so cute and her wardrobe is simple which makes it perfect. :)

Would you rather have to drive an army jeep or take a ride in the Columbia Inn car?
Why drive when you can ride? Besides, I love that great old car. :D

Would you rather sing with Bob or dance with Phil?
I am NOT a singer. (Much as I would like to be.) And I have always wanted to dance with a capable partner, because if he's capable he can teach me! Dance, dance, dance!

This was the gray suit I was talking about earlier. :)

Would you rather have to dance in "Choreography" or sing "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me" in front of your personal equivalent to Bob?
Well, I thought for a split second that I might choose singing, because that would mean that I have a 'Bob' of my own. But I would, in all honesty, probably pass out from the fear of singing in front of people in general, not just my 'Bob'. If I were to dance to 'Choreography' that means there are other dancers the audience could watch so not ALL eyes would be on me. I guess I'm dancing to 'Choreography'! Oh, my...what I sight that would be! :O

You know, this gif might just change my mind! Hahaha!

Would you rather be Phil's or Bob's 'girl'?
Phil's. He would make me laugh. :)

Would you rather have Judy's or Betty's dress in that final scene?
I know I already asked the wardrobe question but this is different because I can choose between these two. :) Betty, again. I think the furry shoulder wrap, that Judy has, could be fun but after awhile I think it would make my hair crazy staticy. So I prefer Betty's.

Well, that was fun to fill out because "White Christmas" is my favorite Christmas film! (It actually might be my all time favorite movie EVER but I shouldn't try and figure that out.) I would love to hear some of your answers! Leave a comment or a link to your blog so that I can read what you have to say. :) (As I don't know how many people know the movie I thought it would best if I steer clear of making this an 'official tag'.)

Above all, be sure to watch it this season. Whether it's for your hundredth time or your first. It's highly recommended either way!

Merry Christmas,
Cordy

  1. This is a fun post, Cordy! I think I'll go ahead and answer the questions right here! :)

    1. Good point about the country versus the city. I think I'll have to go with Vermont, too.
    2. Oh, a train ride would be cool, especially if it was an old-fashioned train. They always look so cozy and comfortable in the movies.
    3. Well, I don't care overly much for Wallace and Davis' big time productions (the girls costumes do not suit me), but if it was merely a Wallace and Davis routine (just the two of them) then I'd choose them over the Haines sisters. They're more amusing. :)
    4. Betty's.
    5. Hmm. I really don't know. I'd have to see a picture of both suits together, and even then I'm not sure I could make up my mind.
    6. Well, I can't remember what all of their dresses looked like so I'm not sure. Heehee. Maybe I'll have to follow your example and go for Susan's wardrobe, because I like the simple look, too. And that pink dress she's wearing in the picture is really quite lovely.
    7. Probably take a ride. I'd feel strange driving an army jeep.
    8. Well, realistically, I could probably manage the singing better than the dancing. I am NOT a dancer. However, if I could miraculously become one, without any effort, then I might choose dancing. It would be fun to be able to glide so effortlessly across the floor.
    9. Well, I would NOT dance in "Choreography." Absolutely out of the question! (heehee) So I guess I would have to sing. It would be quite an undertaking, though, since I've never sung a solo in front of an audience before. I'd probably fowl it all up. (Actually, though, I probably wouldn't even have to sing, because if I had a personal equivalent to Bob we would have talked things through before I jumped to conclusions and left. I mean, why not? It would make things a whole lot easier. Ha!)
    10. I might go with Phil here, too. He's just funny. "My dear, partner. When what's left of you gets around to what's left to be got, what's left to be got won't be worth getting whatever it is you've got left." Haha!
    11. I agree with you about the furry shoulder wrap. That would probably get annoying after a while. I'd probably choose Betty's dress, too.

This was fun, Cordy. Thanks. :) Have a lovely day!

    1. Yea! So glad you enjoyed yourself!

      2. Oh, it would HAVE to be old-fashioned!
      6. That pink dress :)
      8. You're so lucky you can sing!
      9. Perhaps if I had been more sensible with my Bob, as you suggest, I wouldn't have had to make a decision either. But I could still NEVER sing. (Not that I can dance, but as I said, I wouldn't and couldn't be the spotlight of a show!)
      10. Phil...he's so cute around Judy and of course he has the best sense of humor. :) "She carried me right with her, I don't weight very much."

Glad you had a good time! Same to you!

  2. I'm in such a Christmas-y mood that I want to do this tag! Hopefully I will if time and motivation permits. ;) If not, I'll come back and fill out my answers in the comments!
