Dear Friends and Readers,
As this is my first Christmas on my blog I wanted to write a little Christmas letter of sorts to you all. I've never written a Christmas letter before, let alone a blogging one, so bear with me.
As I don't feel like I have accomplished many noteworthy things, I suppose I'm just going to give you a list of some of the things that I have watched, listened to, or read this year. (That leaves you to comment if you want more information on any of them.) Basically, a year in review and in media form.
I'll begin with movies. (Not all of these I saw in the theatre. Some of them I just discovered this past year...and they aren't really in any order.)
Woman in Gold | Cinderella | Pan | Avengers: Age of Ultron | Star Wars: The Force Awakens | Mr. Holmes | Ant-Man (<that was for my brother, do me a favor and don't ask me about it...ugh!) | Bridge of Spies | The Peanuts Movie | The Stratton Story | Sissi | Singin' in the Rain | Big Hero 6
Plays that I went to at a local theatre:
Big Fish | Barefoot in the Park
(Plays I potentially want to go to in the coming year... Jane Eyre and Peter Pan. I don't know what I think about a Jane Eyre play but I'm interested...so that's something.)
I was going to list the books I read, but there are so few of them, (however one was the Hobbit, I reread it, and that was good) that I thought I would only mention the one that I would most like you to read. I first read it last year but reread it this year.
The Awakening of Miss Prim
Seriously! Please try it!
Now, music. As I have mentioned before, Josh Groban has a special place in my musical heart and I have two songs of his that I would like to share with you now. (I'm so glad this is a digital 'card' because that means I can share videos!) Both of them are from his new album Stages, that is amazing! I know that I have a few readers that like the theatre and just might like a peek into this incredible album. Therefore:
Children Will Listen / Not While I'm Around
You'll Never Walk Alone
There really isn't a dud on this whole album!
As I have been typing about this past year, I have been reminded that I have done at least a few noteworthy writing things that I thought I would share:
1) I actually opened this blog for reading! I know my little history says that I've been posting since 2014 but I really only opened the blog in September...ish of this year. It may have been October. 2) I started writing three new books and edited part one of a book I started last year. 3) I finished NaNoWriMo which means that one of my three books got finished. (Kind of.)
Well, there you have it readers. I year review of Cordy.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Cordy
P.S. I don't know about the rest of you but I love the phrase 'Merry Christmas'. 'Merry' in and of itself, to me, suggests Christmas cheer!

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.
So please, do comment!
P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D

Merry Christmas, Cordy!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I hope you can see Peter Pan and Jane Eyre! I've never seen either but I love the books, so I have to imagine the plays would be tolerable, at least. :)
I haven't listened to much Josh Groban, but his voice is very beautiful. I'll have to try more of his songs!
I hope you and your family have a beautiful Christmas! And New Year, too. :)
And a very merry Christmas to you too, Natalie!
DeleteSo long as they don't make Jane Eyre a musical they should be alright, right?! Hahaha.
Oh, yes! Try more Josh Groban! Particularly the album I mentioned above as well as his Christmas album!
I wish the very same to you, Natalie!:D

Haha! It's funny you mention that because they HAVE made a Jane Eyre musical! I have yet to listen to the soundtracks, but I've been told it's actually very good. :)
DeleteHope your Christmas was marvelous!
Hi, Cordy! I tagged you for a Christmas Movies tag. (If you don't want to do it, that's totally fine). To find the questions, please see 1900fashion.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Thank you! I will have to see what I can do about that! Maybe I can get it done tonight or something...hmm. It looks like fun and it seems fairly short. (Which is a good thing right now. Haha!)
DeleteMerry Christmas to you too!
