When you hear that we're living many lives it means so much more than seeing the outline and features of random people that evolve into characters. It means we have their memories and experience the emotions tied to them. It means we know and grasp motivations both dark and pure. We know their thoughts and the meanings behind them. We've experienced heartbreaks and triumphs that we may never achieve for ourselves.
Just seriously wrap your brain around this for a minute!!!
We have the memories of thousands of character and sometimes creatures alike. We have family histories and traditions, along with laws and regulations of countless known and unknown lands as well as time periods both modern, ancient, and otherwise. The details of which can both bore and engage us. I don't know about the rest of you, but I've never had a dull thought in my life! We are in a constant state of construction and restructuring. Essentially, we have lifetimes inside of us covering a wide and unlimited variety of characters.
So while we are trying our best to live normal daily lives, we are taking our characters with us, or more, they always require company. Keeping in the background of our minds, they are constantly urging and begging for more time and attention.
So now, I've spelled it out to you. This strange phenomenon of having a writer's brain. And yet, at the same time, this is still not even scratching the surface of what it means to have a writer's brain.
Yours truly,
Cordy

I love this Cordy!! :D <3
ReplyDeleteIt's so true!! We have so many characters and feelings and whole universes that we keep stored in our heads, it's really really cool when you think abut it! Awesome post m'dear! :D
P.S. You've been tagged, just FYI ;)
It's super cool and super overwhelming all at the same time because we have our life to live too, you know. Sometimes, well most of the time, I think our characters forget that. Hahaha.
DeleteThanks!
Oh boy! I'll have to check it out!! :D
How is it that I've subscribed, yet never know when you've published a post?! Clearly, I need to go check my settings.
ReplyDeleteGrumblings aside, I love the title--*The Princess Bride*, yes?
And I think my mind is now swirling with amazement at the fact--well, realization--that yes, every time I read a book, or create a new story, I am changed...usually for the better. Isn't it mind-boggling that we can stuff all this knowledge, emotion, information, and sometimes general randomness into our brains, and then draw on it at will? For instance in near-constant quoting (a failing of mine, I'm afraid).
Proof that our brains are amazing.
And by the way, I've nominated you for the Awesome Blogger Award, should you be so inclined to participate :)
Well, I think you're with Wordpress, aren't you? (Sorry if I'm wrong, I'm trying to remember.) I don't know that site at all but, make sure you click on my header and that will take you to the main page of the blog and use that web-address to follow me. Otherwise, it links simply to a post and doesn't pull any of the new posts into your feed. That would be the only thing I'd know to check for. Haha.
DeleteYes, indeed. It's a funny movie and just so quotable! :D
It's awesome really. In a classic sense of the word where it's really an awe-inspiring thing. Our brains are so cool. (And nuts most of the time), but so cool! :D :D <3 I couldn't do without mine ;P. Okay, bad joke.
Oh, constant quoting is a failing? Hmm, I knew I was missing a few flaws when I last counted mine. I'm sure I didn't list constant quoting as one of my failings. How neglectful of me. Hehehe.
I've got to get to work then, I have a tag and now your award to get to. Thanks for the nomination!! :D
Hope you're having a great summer! <3
