Christmas Music Tag (Part 3): Decorating the Tree

Here we are, the last addition to my Christmas Music Tag. (That takes far to long to say and type but I don't dare abbreviate it for fear of it meaning something else... :))

The category of the day...Decorating the Tree! I don't know if all of you listen to music while decorating your trees but my family does. (At my grandparent's we use a record player and listen to the Beach Boys.) If you don't listen to music while decorating the tree that's fine, share some of your favorite Christmas songs instead, as this is the last installment.

O Holy Night-Andy Williams

Up to this point I have made sure there aren't videos that went along with the music so that you wouldn't be distracted.(I'm easily distracted by those kinds of things.) You can tell that I've made an exception. There was a special on TV a few years ago that highlighted the TV show that Andy Williams used to have. After watching, I realized that I missed something that I had never had in the first place! This video isn't the same version as the one on his Christmas album but I think that Andy Williams sings my favorite version of "O Holy Night" I chose to use this video version because I wish we still had shows like this today.

Silent Night-Josh Groban

There is a special place in the musical side of my heart for Josh Groban. :)

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day-Casting Crowns

This song is pretty amazing!

The Holy City-The Irish Tenors

I have early Christmas memories of the Tenors playing in the background and this song of theirs is so triumphal and motivating! I love it!

Haha, I only noticed after, I had added the pictures, how they were all so strangely tall and skinny. :)

Thanks for letting me share some of these songs with you! You have all been wonderful and you shouldn't worry if, 'you couldn't participate' because you've all commented and that's participating. I hope I have reminded you of some favorites as well as introduced you to some new picks.

This is me!
Okay, not really.
(Not even a little.)

I'm going to be sorry to leave these wonderful vintage pictures behind. (But, there is a long winter ahead so I may be able to slip them in again sometime!)

Now that NaNoWriMo is over I should have a little more time for posting and I have a few fun posts in mind. I promise, they will have nothing to do with music...not for awhile anyway. :)

Merry Christmas!

  1. I don't know if I've commented this before, but I'm too lazy to look back and see. Some of my favorite Christmas songs are Mary Did You Know, God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen, O Come All Ye Faithful, and Joy to the World . . . can you tell that my church sings a lot of hymns?

    1. You haven't told me before, though you mentioned that you liked hymns, so thanks for sharing! I love all of those songs as well. (Especially Mary Did You Know.) I wish we were singing Christmas songs in church but I guess they just had to wait until it was 'officially' December. :/ But hey, that means they are on the way this week!

  2. We don't usually listen to Christmas music while we're decorating the tree--there's already so much noise with all the kids that it would probably only add to the chaos--but I really like the idea. Maybe when I have my own home, and my family is still small, I'll do that. Because listening to Christmas music while decorating the tree would be so festive! :)

    1. I understand. Things can get a little noisy when we do my grandparents tree with all the cousins. :)
But yours is a good plan!

If your comment doesn't appear immediately don't worry! I moderate my comments so check back in a few days and you might find it!

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.

So please, do comment!

P.S. I don't mind comments on old posts. :D
