I love the idea of an old-fashioned dance, with girls in 50's dresses and guys in suit jackets. But, sadly, reality is not as kind as my imagination and I haven't attended such a dance. But that doesn't mean that I can't dream one up. And depending on the timing, if my wedding reception is anywhere near Christmas, I will be in charge of the music and it will be at least one time to carry out this little dream of mine.
With this in mind, I bring you my picks for this installment of the Christmas music tag. Dancing music. For those of you participating, this music covers anything from slow romantic music of the season to the more lighthearted picks that you would dance to. Basically, it's open to interpretation...what would you want to dance to? For myself, I have chosen some slower and more romantic songs.
One last thing before I begin. Just for a reference,
It's a bit simple but also sweet. Just what I would need for a dance!
#1 It Must Have Been the Mistletoe-Barbra Streisand

| I'm not so into a barn/square dance but I like the vintageness of the picture. :D |
#2 Christmas Bride-Ray Conniff Singers
This top song, is from when my mom was little and it's just so cute! Another reason why I want a Christmas wedding.
If you don't listen to any other songs LISTEN TO THIS ONE! It's the best, I believe, for dancing! But as I have so little experience, I might be wrong. :)
#4 A Christmas to Remember-Amy Grant
My mind has this little habit of imagining scenarios with music. I thinks that's where the idea for these post came from. I wanted to share my imagination with you in some small way. You have listened to my ice skating picks, now you know what I'm imagining when I hear these songs as well. :D
I hope you have enjoyed your listening and that you will share your thoughts and picks with me in the comments below! You can include details about a dreamy dress or maybe your celebrity partner...Fred Astaire maybe? Hahaha.
Yours truly,
Cordy
P.S. Thank you, Olivia, for participating in the last tag! For those of you who might have missed Olivia's post for ice skating music you can find it here.

I always feel inclined to dance when I listen to certain songs from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea for these posts! – Some of my favorite Christmas songs are hymns.
I see what you mean. However, when I hear the Nutcracker I imagine other ballerinas and such doing the dancing...not just myself. I can't really picture myself doing ballet. :) Hahaha.
DeleteWhich hymns?

Oooh! I like how you included the vintage pictures in this post, Cordy! And the dress you chose for dancing in is so cute! :) I think a Christmas wedding would be really neat. Not sure if it would be my first choice, but if I was ready to get married and that was the most convenient time, then I certainly wouldn't object.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I just have to comment on your sidebar. Those Christmas pictures are SO adorable; and they add such a cozy air to your blog! I've always been partial to cute, vintage pictures like that. :)

I'm glad you approve of...everything! :D
DeleteI have always loved vintage cards with Santa and while I was searching for pictures to go with this post I came across many extras. Therefore, I had to spruce up my sidebar. :)

Oh my! Cordy! I PROMISE I'm not ignoring this: with Thanksgiving and the Lewis week, I keep forgetting or having other posts I need to do. But I plan to do this, I promise!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I will try to come back and listen to these soon;)
Thanks for linking to my post, by the by!:)
No worries, I've been planning these posts for longer than you've known about them so I've had more time to work on them. :) And I've also been to busy to write any new posts myself.
DeleteI have enjoyed reading what you had to say during the Lewis week. I need to get to know his work better than I do at the present. I know Narnia well enough but not much of this other work.
I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
And thank you for doing the tag!
