Fictional Matchmaking Consultation for: Hamlette, Ivy Miranda & Rae | Lovely Blog Party

Alright, I have the next batch of matches ready to be shipped, if you'll forgive the pun. ;) Or maybe it's so good you missed it. Yeah, that's not it, anyway, just as before, here are a few matches made in a fictional realm of heaven for you.

**Please understand, these are meant as a joke, so if I entirely missed the mark, I hope it causes a laugh and not distress. :)**

Hamlette = Bard

(You are welcome ;)) Yours is a romance based off mutual interest though it takes place during perilous times and therefore your interaction is interesting to say the least. Though he is not good at expressing his affection, you are able to communicate well in your relationship and express and resolve concerns reasonably. You find him to be trustworthy, intelligent as well as protective. All of which only adds to his physical attributes. (I believe you requested broad shoulders if at all possible...how did I do?) As things are, your future is uncertain as some rebuilding is in order after much strife, but the two of you are capable of facing the challenge together.

Ivy Miranda = Professor Bhaer

While you are not most like Jo, I believe you could easily find happiness with Friedrich Bhaer. Though a little older in years, the professor does have a keen smile and though well versed in music, theatre, and the arts, he is not always proficient in expressing his own affection for you. Your arguments often arise when he is encouraging you to do what is truly in your best interests and to build your talents, rather than cater to the common opinions of the world. An argument that is hard to disagree with, though it is very hard to hear such truth spoken of so sincerely. However, he is able to balance his criticism and his desire for hearing your opinions which delight him. You find him easy to talk to and his passion for learning and teaching has given him a natural affection for both reading and children.

Rae = Tom Shaw

My fellow "An Old-Fashioned Girl" fangirl has returned!! And I'd like to welcome her back with Tom Shaw as her match. Tom has the misfortune of being both proud and overconfident which make him fall into scrape after scrape now and again. And even though his inability to know his own mind may mean he fancies himself in love with another his affection for you, one realized, can be trusted without a doubt. Furthermore, even though he is unable to provide you with the lavish lifestyle he has been accustomed to, you are delighted to work alongside him as he makes a life for you outside of the town's society being the homemaker that you are.

And there you have it. Again, for those of you new here, you can submit your own answers in this post. I have plenty more posts coming, as I have more responses that I must consider.

Yours truly,
Cordy

  1. You claim this to be a joke but nothing in your choice for me is a joke! Professor Bhaer is perfect! I’ve never read Little Women, but I’ve read enough about Frederick to consider him a perfect match for someone like me.

    1. Oh, I am so relieved. There is more pressured involved in this game of mine than I first thought. And this was the basically the first pick that came to mind that checked so many of your boxes. :D He is such a favorite.

  2. I'd take Tom Shaw myself! I've noticed a few more people taking notice of An Old Fashioned Girl lately, its greatly overlooked. Actually it feels like people don't read as much of Alcott like they may of Montgomery. Overall Montgomery I think writes better (certainly doesn't have the tendency to moralize like Alcott does), but Alcott does better guys usually. The Montgomery men are often vague, mysterious, almost nonentities at times.

    1. While I do adore Tom, I don't know if I'd pick him for myself though he is such a favorite. And I agree with you on Alcott being overshadowed in a way and Montgomery having more of a spotlight. So all very well said. :)

  3. (THANK YOU)

    Considering that Bard is my dearest Middle-earth love, I'd say you did darn well ;-) Broad shoulders and all!

    1. I think this was the only pairing so far that I was rather certain of at least some success. Hahaha.

Don't misunderstand my moderating. I am trying to contain and avoid unsavory comments and spammers. This does not include those who disagree with me, only those that are unable to state their disagreement agreeably. I have already said that I would enjoy different opinions.
