Alright then, that's the line-up. It's not too intimidating, right? Personally, I'm rather excited for the role of matchmaker. Maybe because this is fictional. If this was for real this would NOT be happening. I can't wait to get to work!
Yours truly,
Cordy
P.S. Please forgive the formatting. I spent so much time trying to get it right, and it just isn't working. It looks fine one second and then goes crazy the next. So, forgive me for that. Hahaha.
P.P.S. What is your preference for my revealing your match? Should I make mini posts throughout the month as the answers come in and the matches are made, or should I reveal them all with my wrap up post at the end of the month? Please let me know in the comments!

I love this idea! I do believe that you've made one of the most fun games yet!

21. No, I'm just sorry about all of my indecisiveness!
This is so much fun! Whenever you choose to post the results is fine to me, though the end of the month seems like an awful long time away. ;)
This looks like so much fun! Do we give the answers in the comments or can we post them on our sites too?
ReplyDeleteIt's better to post your answers here in the comments so I can do my matchmaking homework. But I suppose you could post your answers and my response when I get you your results to your blog. That'll be up to you.
DeleteOk. I was just confused as to how it all works. I figured we would give the answers in the comments. I will definitely post your results on my blog!
DeleteFirst off, this is brilliant! What fun!
ReplyDeleteI think the reveals should be at the end, so we can all read everyone’s together.

20. Who are three of your favorite fictional men?
So many favorites, but I will try to think of favorites that I’d actually live well with and not want to murder (I love the fascinating funny types like Peter Wimsey but I don’t think they’d actually be reliable and some of the brooding types like Captain Wentworth, but those sparks would tend to turn nuclear).
Henry Tilney. Harry Potter (as a grown up obvs, he just has that balanced yet funny character that it hard to find and is underrated). John Knightley in the 2008 Emma.
21. Any other facts you think I should know to ensure a proper match? (this is where you should give direct hints for favorite and least favorite choices ;))
Any boring stick in the mud of the Colonel Brandon type. Any of the brooding dramatic, possessive types ala Rochester. Any indecisive types ala Edward Ferrars and any without a sense of humor.
Yay, so excited !

I sent my answers in a couple of days ago. Didn't you get it?
ReplyDeleteYes, I did. I'm making mini posts matching in sets of two or three. These were the first three answers, I'm publishing the comments once I make the posts and make the matches. It's just how I'm keeping track of all the answers and making sure I don't miss anyone. :)

21.) So I didn't have enough options to choose this one, but I reeeeally want a guy who likes to dance! (Mr. Tilney very nearly made my list of top three for that reason and others ;)) I really go for guys who are fun loving, spontaneous, and tall ;). A few other men definitely worth mentioning are Barney Snaith, Percy Blakeney, Gilbert Blythe, Mr. Nobely (from Austenland) and Jim Halpert (The Office). Guys who are moody, suuuuper awkward and no sense of humor really aren't my cup of tea.

c) thoughtful i) easy to talk to
n) protective o) adventurous
9. Are you opposed to being matched with a prince?
b) no
10. I'm afraid I do need some physical attributes though do not believe that is all that matters in matchmaking ;) Please answer which of these is the closest to resembling your ideal match...

e) Wendy Darling AND l) Kathleen Kelly - You've Got Mail
12. Are you more likely to watch a period drama or chick flick?
a) period drama
13. How does your relationship begin?
I honestly think it would be a combo of b & i:
b) takes a while to get off the ground, because neither of you know how to take the first step, so the steps are a little on the awkward side, and yet interest is mutual

Henry Tilney (Northanger Abbey)
Killian Jones aka Captain Hook (Once Upon a Time)

Honourable Mentions:
Kevin O’Brien (Chesapeake Shores)
Andre Merrick (Timeline)
21. Any other facts you think I should know to ensure a proper match? (this is where you should give direct hints for favorite and least favorite choices ;)) Can't think of any right now!
Okay, I am dying to try this one out - I have had a terrible time in picking just ONE fictional boyfriend, lol.
ReplyDelete1. b) A grand sprawling estate. Because that's the closest I can get to a farm, most likely.
2. b) writing and n) sewing. But I do almost everything else too, so that was hard....I have a lot of hobbies!
3. b) shy/awkward, sidelong glances, drive in movie. Swap out the drive in movie with a picnic and you actually nail my first date with the last guy I dated almost to a T.
4. b) Ever After. Though I wouldn't complain if it was f) period drama or i) disney movie
5. a) Farmer. Though b) soldier and g) craftsman are not bad choices....(I TOLD YOU I CAN'T PICK ONE). But whatever you do, do NOT put me with i) religious occupation. It's literally against my religion (I'm Catholic, the majority of our religious leaders are celibate).
6. l) old soul, n) optimistic, j) creative.
7. c) imaginative, k) intelligent, l) curious
8. f) well-read, h) enjoys dancing, m) trustworthy. (But really, I want them all, please and thank you. I know, I have impossibly high standards).
9. b) no.
10. f) tall, dark and handsome. Because that is perfection in a romantic hero.
11. h) Elinor Dashwood. Though I also strongly relate to f) Danielle - Ever After (when I'm actually confident in myself, which only happens half the time now).
12. a) period drama. I do like the occasional chick flick but period dramas have CLASS.
13. i) rather puzzled, but we inspire each other. Though b) awkward but mutual interest would work too
14. a) hot tempers that don't resolve. At least I have the temper. I dearly hope that he doesn't.
15. c) hit with hard times. That is hitting a little too close to home, knowing my current financial situation....
16. c) my best friend. Otherwise known as the co-composer of every single love letter I have sent (sorta, lol)
17. n) workaholic, a) broody, c) proud.
18. h) stubborn and i) quick-tempered.
19. g) he shares his work.
20. Jack Thornton (When Calls the Heart), Prince Ashton (A Princess for Christmas), and Jim Craig (Man from Snowy River). There are others, for sure....
21. Just don't set me up with a scoundrel. Because then I won't respect him and it will end badly.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

ReplyDelete1) Cottage by the sea
2) Reading and working
3) b, c, e
4) Disney movie for sure -- anything romantic is awkward/too much pressure, but Disney would be perfect
5) F -- don’t really care except that I don’t want a farmer or a religious occupation (I don’t think)
6) Nurturing, mature, thoughtful
7) Reserved, intelligent, curious
8) Humorous, intelligent, easy to talk to, realistic, trustworthy
9) B
10) I don’t have a set "type"; I guess I’m more often attracted to dark-featured guys than light-featured guys, but it really depends.
11) Elinor
12) Both equally but c made me laugh
13) f
14) A or d, I don’t usually get into arguments with people until it’s really serious and then it becomes Very Dramatic And Wounding. :-P But if I'm arguing with someone I trust and am really close to, I can typically "state and resolve" it more honestly and directly.
15) f
16) My mom, definitely -- she's the only person who knows me well enough. But I'd also want feedback from friends and some family members.
17) f, l, m
18) g, l or f
19) e
20) See, the problem here is that my favorite fictional men are hardly ever the kinds I would want to marry, which confuses people. Still, since you asked, my three favorite fictional heroes according to a list I made a while back are Faramir (The Lord of the Rings), Tom Harte (Broken Trail), and Cadvan of Lirigon (The Books of Pellinor).
21) Direct hints? xD Well, I think you already know this, but please don’t match me with Steve Rogers. xD xD Or Maxim de Winter. Also, wouldn’t want to be with Fitzwilliam Darcy. Or John Thornton, I don’t think. Lolz.
When it comes to fictional guys I could actually see myself matching well with . . . I actually don’t think about it very much! And then people are often surprised when I DO give examples, precisely because I don’t tend to rave about them. But here are three possibilities I’ve thought of: Jim McKay (The Big Country), Roger Hamley (Wives and Daughters 1999), and Don Pedro (Much Ado About Nothing 1993).
Caveats: With Roger, I’m thinking in terms of personality/temperament/general character, MINUS the very troublingly protracted lapse into total superficiality betrayed by the whole Cynthia situation. xD xD And ditto with Don Pedro: personality/temperament/general character, MINUS the whole “standing idly by while a woman is verbally and physically assaulted in a case of imperfectly substantiated slut-shaming” thing, which is obviously a Very Big Defect And One Of Which I Of Course Disapprove Most Heartily.
This is such an interesting idea, Cordy! Props to you for taking it on, haha. xD
