Alright, the majority of you have suggested a preference of seeing little installment posts that hold the results for their fictional matches. And I have to say, I was hoping that would be the case. (Especially as I've been getting more responses, which has been so much fun!) I feel like I'll give a little more detail in my replies if they are split up rather than combined at the end of the month. Therefore, I'm here for the first reveals of my matchmaking calculation.
**Please understand, these are meant as a joke, so if I entirely missed the mark, I hope it causes a laugh and not distress. :)**
MovieCritic = Prince Kit
While referencing your feedback, I know that the prince doesn't meet all the the criteria, however I feel like I captured a certain sense of your ideal match. The prince has something of a sense of humor that suggests a hint of harmless troublemaking while still keeping gentlemanly manners. You find a certain companionship that isn't quite understood at first but as your familiarity grows that endears you to the other. You most enjoy spending quality time together and are able to speak your minds without ending up in a scrape with the other even when having opinions that differ from the other because of your different upbringings.
Now with this one--hear me out. My first thought after reading your submission was actually Mr. Elton. People find Mr. Elton repulsive because of the movie/s, but in the book, Elton is mentioned many times as being an attractive man with means. He is merely very arrogant and to much aware of his "virtues". And his wife only adds to those flaws so perhaps with another he might not have turned out so awfully bad. However, I did not wish to offend with such a choice, but so many of your answers, as to your life together and his flaws and such, seemed to match him I had to laugh. I didn't know if you would too so I made a different match. Anyway, I don't imagine Lord Devereaux would be on your list of top candidates but I believe that's one of the reasons I selected him. Nicholas has his own sense of humor an intelligence while being entirely trustworthy once you gain his loyalty. You don't have a very smooth start to your relationship, as he did deceive you at your first meeting, but as time progresses and an argument or two ensue, affection does find a way into your relationship.
Rachel = Robert Martin
You and Robert's story started with a friendship as you stayed with his sisters over the summer and grew into something more as time went on. He is a little forgetful at times, so your time spent together is often not especially thought out and planned to the last detail, however he does make time for you. And his loyalty and trustworthiness is proven even when you are persuaded to refuse him by a dear friend. He stays true to his feelings and waits for another time to prove himself to you. Once you begin your life together, you are willing to work along side him together through the good times and the bad.
Well, there you have the first few matches made and the rest is, of course up to you ladies ;) For those of you who are curious and would like me to try my hand at a fictional match for you, you can find the quiz here.
Yours truly,Cordy

Lord Nicholas Devereaux, this is hilarious. When I watched this movie in theatre in my teens I fell headlong in love with Chris Pine because of this character, he's definitely my longest movie crush.
ReplyDeleteBUT!
Almost Mr. Elton?!!!! Oh, no, no, no, I didn't know he was even in the running.
*clapping* Oh I'm so glad I did so well! I was worried you wouldn't know who he was. It's not a movie very commonly talked about. And I'm glad you approve.
DeleteWell, that's the funny thing. Some of he Austen "villains" were on my list because some are mild offenders comparatively speaking. But he was not among them. He was just who came to mind as I was reading through your answers for some reason, and I had to laugh. I hope you aren't offended by it.
Depends on who is in the particular mix (Churchill is not a villain in my book, JA has quite a variety of types and spectrums, I want to do a post on that), I'd probably pick Elton if forced over the other villains, I don't really think he is a villain, just a jerk.
DeleteShe really does, and I kind of like that. He is a jerk, but not truly villain worthy. And I just noticed how riddled with typos my last comment was. Sorry about that. I'm trying to keep on top of this party, but it is getting away from me I think. ;/ :D
DeleteOh wow ! I really didn't except to be with Robert Martin :). He is such a lovely and gentle soul and I couldn't be more happier with this result.
ReplyDeleteThis was so much fun :D
OOooh, I'm so glad it was a success for you, Rachel!! And that you've had fun with this. I have to confess, I'm really enjoying this part of the party. ;D
