Kindred Spirits Tag

A few weeks ago Rae tagged me for the Kindred Spirits Tag she created. Better late than never...right? :D

1. When did you first read L. M. Montgomery's books/Have you read any of L. M. Montgomery's books?
Um, when I was probably eight or nine maybe I got a cute large print copy of Anne of Green Gables from the library. We owned several copies but the large print made me look like I was reading a huge book. Soooo, naturally, you read that copy. ;)

2. Which of L. M. Montgomery's books have you read?
The Anne Books and Emily of New Moon.

3. Who is your favourite Montgomery hero?
Um, Matthew. :)

4. Which L. M. Montgomery book do you think should be made into a movie (can include a book you think deserves a better movie than the one it has :)?
Um, I don't have one that jumps to mind. I rather like the movies that have already been made.

5. Do you know without looking it up when her birthday is? When?
Nope. So sorry.

6. Do you know what L. M. Montgomery's friends called her?
I have no idea.

7. What is one of your favourite Montgomery quotes?
This one, because it's me. :)
8. Which of her books do you think has the prettiest title?
Anne of Windy Poplars or Anne of Windy Willow. (It changes depending on where you're from.)

9. What's the prettiest Montgomery book cover you've seen (include a picture if possible!)?
It's the cover I grew up knowing.

10. Do you have a favourite Montgomery book? What? (Yes, you may choose multiple books.)
I really like Anne of Green Gables.

Thanks for a good time, Rae!

Yours truly,
Cordy

P.S. Oh, and Hi! I'm back! :D

Aww. Matthew! I like that answer. Matthew is such a dear person.

I've never seen that cover of Anne's House of Dreams, but it really is pretty. The scenery in the background is beautiful!!

P.S. YAY! I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!! :D Also...YOUR NEW LAYOUT!! It's adorable! How do manage to make such beautiful headers? (Is the picture of the trees one of your own pictures, by any chance?)

Oh! And I also really like that picture of June Allyson on your sidebar. It's lovely. She has such an infectious grin, doesn't she? :)

    1. I had a habit of finding the 'largest' copies of books when I was younger so I looked impressive. Hehe. Now, I try to find the smallest copies so they can always fit in a purse. :)

      <3

Haven't you? They are the versions I know the best so I'm rather partial.

Yup!! I'm here again! Thanks! Actually, both pictures in the header are mine. :) The mountain shot was taken about twenty minutes from where I live and the little chipmunk is from when I lived on the east coast. (And for the record, I LOVE your headers too!)

You know, we were meant to be friends. I love how you can understand my June Allyson love perfectly. :D

    2. You're so funny. Yeah, big books are definitely more impressive. But on the other hand, little books are more practical. I guess you've grown more practical as you've gotten older, huh? ;)

I can see why. They are really lovely versions. :)

SERIOUSLY? Those are both your pictures?!! Wow. They're awesome!! You've definitely got talent when it comes to photography! SO GOOD! (And, aww, thanks. I'm glad you like my headers, too. :))

      We SO were! :D <3

    3. HA! Yeees, that's exactly what it means. *she says while shaking her head* Hehehe.

YES! Those are mine. :D Thank you, Miss March!!!

  2. Oh!!! You did it!! Yes, better late than never. :)

    Matthew! Yes. I love Matthew!

YES. That quote. I can totally relate to it, too.

Okay, about the Anne of Windy Willows thing--is it just something that depends on where you're from? Because I know the original (real) title is Anne of Windy Poplars, but our library had an edition that said Willows. Are there multiple editions that are Willows? And who decided they could change the title and that word throughout the entire book? (Okay so I only just looked it up and it says it's Willows in the UK, Australia and Japan? Why on earth did our library in America have Willows then? Hmm.)

Yess, I've always loved that cover!

Anne of Green Gables really is splendid.

Thanks for doing the tag, Cordy! I hope you enjoyed it!

    1. YES, I am so VERY sorry for the delay. Really, Cordy. :P

:) He is really the best!

      It's brilliant in my opinion!

I don't know how your library has a copy of Willow. But I know that I'll find British editions of books sometimes at libraries. Like the Harry Potter books. The words are modified and changed for each edition. *shrug* I have no answer for you my friend. :/

Oh, good, you know the cover!

      Quite. :D

I did, thanks again, Rae! I am only sorry to have taken so long.

    2. From what I've heard it more speeds up than down, but yeah :D

    3. Unfortunately, that's also what I've been told.
May the force be with you! ;)

  4. Your new look is so delightfully autumn-ish! :)

Matthew is indeed a hero. He's so sweet and selfless and utterly amazing.

I like that cover of Anne's House of Dreams, though I've never seen it before. It's lovely!

I had a copy of "Anne of Windy Willows" when I was younger, and yet when I saw "Anne of Windy Poplars" I got so confused and was suspicious of them being two different books. I was glad to find I was wrong. :)

    1. Thanks, Natalie. :)

      "utterly amazing"<< well said!! :D

      I'm finding that's a common response. O_O

Haha, yup, same story. I'll get so confused with the double titles. I was once reading a series that went by different names for each book. One set was the British editions and the other were for Americans. But the problem was, I couldn't tell which was supposed to be which. Sheesh! So confusing! ;P

    2. Oh dear! That does sound confusing. There should be a law or something against double titles. :P
